This make me think the "Shortbow gets 100% from dex" change is a bad idea.
It makes archer a "one attribute" build. Dex takes care of Attack/DEF/Damage and you don't need anything else.
The combat engine definitely needs refinement. The scaling issue of longbows vs. shortbows is one of the more egregious examples of balance issues inherent in the combat system. The problems aren't glaringly obvious (in my opinion) with the current level cap and itemization, but they do prevent DLC expansions that extend the characters level and provide more powerful items.
