As far as what I have seen, this does not affect the Geth SMG, it does affect all other SMGs though.

Depends on how you want to express it. I would say, that the ultralight materials only work on the geth smg.

It doesn't affect thw Geth SMG because it came with the bug fixed in the DLC, the other SMGs need a game patch to be fixed. The same happened with Reave's sound glitch, the Justicar has it fixed whereas the Drell's is still bugged

I've made some tests and it seems not to affect Hurricane as well.

That is, because they fixed it with the last patch that came out a few weeks ago...
Now it doesn't affect any SMG anymore and thus it makes sense to use the Ultralight Materials Mod again.

Even though the powers screne shows a lower cooldown like it should with the lightweight materials equipped, the cooldown ingame is the same as if you were not using the lightweight materials. I just got done timing it with a stopwatch multiple times with all the smgs.
When is this going to be fixed, seems very long overdue???

^^^^^^ For me I get it to work by going to the weapon menu, pick the mod, then exit before a match. Because if you don't go into the mod screen at all between matches, or when you quit playing and restart the game another day, it seems to rest.
so other than that, the UL works with any smg.

After Earth dlc, just got done timing smgs, they are still not working in game. :-(

This is out-right embarassing. How have Bioware had time to release a new pistol ULM mod, but not fix this?
I would use an SMG as a backup weapon with almost every class if this wasn't bugged, but here we are, 4 months after the initial post and still not fixed. LAME

Update on smgs.
STILL NOT WORKING
Geth smg however WORKS
just got done timing all smgs with many characters new and old.
I got the hurricane to work twice out of about 15 times. I can't figure out a procedure to make it work more often.
