The last impression is the impression remembered... Surprised the rating is so high in retrospect.

I can't even begin to say how wrong you are.

Still not sure why they looked at this ending as a good idea........  :(

I can only assume they suffered from "yes man" syndrome. This happens in the film industry a lot. The Star Wars prequels and Avatar are good examples. The creators (George Lucas, James Cameron) are so sucessful and popular, that the people around them are too afraid to tell them when an idea they have is bad. Downright awful even. So they just agree to everything they say like it's God's gift to the world. These are "yes" men. I can only assume Hudson and the other writers reached this point in the third game and felt their storytelling was infallable, and they either didn't ask enough people for their honest input, or the people they did ask were too intimidated to give real feedback that it was a crappy idea. Just my guess.

Really Bioware brought this on themselves. First by ripping off Deus Ex endings in a game that was not Deus Ex. Then by some bright spark saying how they intended the endings to be like so the game would be remembered...

As the flagship title this thing should have been bulletproof. You have multiple endings, it's easy to make everyone happy to some degree or another as long as the possibilities are refelcted by the game.

I think a good comparative for the ME3 ending would be America dropping the H bomb to end the war and by doing so igniting the upper atmosphere and flash frying everything on Earth.

Not only has Bioware failed with ME3 (it did not capture the GoW crowd) but Bioware is reeling from the backlash of broken promises and lost trust. Whatever their next game it does not have the pull of ME3.

I suggest to read the actual reviews for content, and skip the Rating. And if possible and desired, rate the indv Review.

While I have not done this myself in some time, there is a lot of game specificity in some of these critiques, and is a decent source on player info. One must simply sift through the chaff to find the grain of truth.

Yep, and I'm one of those reviews. It killed me to do it because I loved 99% of this great game. But the endings killed the whole experience for me. It wasn't what we were promised and is not acceptable.

That's not cool, the entire game minus the last five minutes was great, and asuming some theories are correct it may just be one of the best games ever.

I think this is just going to make them see us as the enemy and refuse to compromise. If this sort of thing keeps up we'll just be dooming ourselves.

Bioware is a company, they can't afford to be that petty when their future paychecks are on the line.

There are also people who go on Amazon and metacritic and give 100% ratings with such great analysis as BEST GAME EVAR. I don't hear you guys whining about them.

This is only going to harm the people working at BioWare.

Take a look at what happened to Obsidian:

Well then maybe they should have made a better game?

It's a very good game. As an RPG a lot better than FO3. Hardcore mode gives a very good feeling of needing to survive too. It still has all the negatives of a Bethesda games though and because it was not "new" but made of the same engine it scored lower. If you like sandbox games and don't come across any serious bugs it's easily worth 85+.

There are over 700 reviews across all platforms on Amazon. The average for ME3 is 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Both ME1 and ME2 got 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Even DA2 got 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Just because they can't afford it doesn't mean they won't do it.  They're human beings.

BSN and 4chan troll bombin user review sites.

I'll trust the 93% and 94% critic reviews that people actually use to buy games.

Next to Morrowind, New Vegas is one of the best RPGs I have ever played. And I've played tons of them.

That's a keeper.

What I noticed on the UK site is that people who played the game a few hours were giving it 5/5 people who played longer 4/3 and people who had gotten to the end 2/1.

People who were approaching it as an RPG were rating lower than people who were approaching it as a shooter in general.

Stop condemning the whole game over 5 lousy minutes while ignoring the rest of the game.  They didn't screw up near as bad you you hyperreactive "fans" have with your irrational overreaction.
