Seriously ? The endings are mess the game goes from Mass Effect to Mess Effect. Not only that, the endings are the same. The reason people are angry has nothing to do with the endings being good. It's all to do with how the endings don't offer any closure, are riddled with plot holes and carry distasteful implications.

Some things completely invalidate whatever went before. Like finding out that super hot girl you hooked up with gave you an STD.

Don't know of the STD thing; will leave that to your expertise, but according to the various vids available at youtube, this is a matter of opinion.

Seriously.

I was disappointed with the endings, but I don't think they justify completely undermining all the hard work that was put into the rest of the game.

You've admitted to not playing through the game & seeing the endings. You therefore do not know how egregiously developer statements made before & after the game came out are false. People spent an average of $180 on this series and deserve what they were promised. Calling them 'children' is illogical & silly. If you're not intending to be a troll, then please stop being so insulting.

To me it looks like the funds spent on the series equates to the approximate amt it takes to purchase the ethical morality of these gamer; ones willing to tank a review because they did not get what they want.

But maybe you're right; maybe they aren't children.  At least children have integrity for a while; no charge either.

Personally, I hope Amazon itself can take action aginst the lot of them, and that somewhere; someone will stand up to these cyber whiners and simply say enough.

I think it's pretty hard to deny that people hate the ending.  Sure there are instances of people being immature and bombing certain products, I see zero evidence of that here.

I mean go look at the polls on the ending, the comments under every single review, the posts on any gamer forums.  Call it what you want, but I guarantee the execs at Bioware aren't sitting there going on about 'whiners' or 'kids' lol.

I do have to agree with a lot of the reviews. It's amazing how only a few minutes can really taint an experience. ME3 is incredible in pretty much every aspect, but the ending, which was supposed to be the most epic moment was totally reversed. When the credits rolled up I was furious! I can relate to peoples frustrations. It might have made more sense that there could have been a "to be continued" screen than have the whole end sequence. Still would have been a bit mad but well...bit more satisfying than watching that wet clothe of an ending!!

I tend to find more credibility in those that avoid superlative comments and emotional phrasing, and stay more reasoned in their critiques. Not just games, but for all manner of purchases.

I do.

DA1 got 4.5/5.
DA2 got 3.5/5.

ME1 got 4.5/5.
ME2 got 4.5/5.
ME3 got 2/5.

Sounds about right to me.

But several that openly announced that the low rating was due to their displeasure at the finale; not the kind of review I use for credibility

Well I'd usually say the ending of a book/movie/interactive story game is important.  I could name a few that have been destroyed by bad endings.  Why wouldn't you rate it low for a bad ending?  And say so?

Always wrap your junk. I knew a girl who got HIV from someone and out of anger she tried to pass it on to as many people as she could. (100% true, 100% sickening as well)

But it's the kinda review that loses business for EA/BioWare.

Whenever I look at reviews, I read them rather than look at just the rating. The rating rarely tells me anything. A week ago I read each review (there were about half as many as there are now), and there were only a handful or so that did not mention the ending. Even among the good reviews they will mention how badly they disliked the ending. So to me, it was very telling.

Fine....

MP: In Search of the Holy Grail allows me to to start looking for the next film shortly after the bridge scene; little after is appealing to me. However, at one time I could help recite lines for many scenes and characters, as well as improvise lines to VO certain scenes (eg; Knight charging castle while a couple of guards look on in boredom, then die much later - Init rolls matter!) before that point. As a whole, it remains a fave film; Lego Camelot and all.

No reason to tank the whole game because one does not care for the conclusion. And having seen an ending on youtube, though I do not think it is flawless, I am content.

Clearly you're not watching it for the deep, emotionally involving and character driven story either.  If you want to compare it to a movie at least pick something in the same vein lol.

Was not comparing stories; was trying to find a beloved film full of memories that had a finale that could have been better, IMO.

I would also include the Exorcist III; another taught film I enjoy, but has a poor conclusion.

But tanking reviews is shameful, and I hope it comes back on everyone that did so. Mind you, not all the low reviews are tanked, and I am mindful that some good ones may have been placed to offset the bad. Still as Gomer would say: Shame! Shame! Shame!

This is getting totally out of hand..Two stars for a game that is legitimately great and enjoyable? Those reviews are not there to help people decide whether to purchase the game.. They're there because it's another avenue to whine and **** and moan..... Truly sad...but i've come to expect less and less from videogame fans as the years go on.

honestly I told a friend to get the whole trilogy, and after the end of the journey I felt so bad that I gave him a call and told him it wasn't worth it.

Lets compare it to something else

Lets say Halo 4 has MC waking up of his sleep, he finds out that everything he did in the past games gets undone because the flood spores spread and assimilate everyone, then you are given the last mission by cortana to fire up the Halos and try to stop the flood and give life a second chance, you are on Installation 06, you are in the control room, you almost made it!!!

but before you can fire them the Chief aka John gets a heart attack THE END.

no... actually that may very well be a better ending than what ME3 got :/

How do you feel now?

It's not the reviewers fault if they look at the rating and not the review. Do you look at rottentomatoes for movie reviews and look at the score or do you actually read what the reviewers said?  Quit whining about the reviewers.

For this to be accurate the rest of the games wouldn't have been listed on the same site. The people who bought it have every right to give it a terrible review if they thought it was terrible. None of you people bashing us has ANY place telling us how to vote or how we felt about the quality of this game.

Beyond that, the majority of the trolls bashing us can't seem to do anything but chant the mantra "You didn't like the ending, you suck omg."

There are dozens of reasons people have stated as the reasons, combined with a destructive ending, that the game and possibly the series was ruined.

Get the F over yourselves.

Some people apparently refuse to actually read the low-rating reviews. They are not out of line, whiny, tantrums (at least not any random sampling I've ever read). They go over how great the series is, how great the story and characters are, and many get into what is good and bad about ME3 before they describe how the ending is so bad and soul destroying.

My father and sister love the series too. I got them into it and they were as eager as I was for ME3 to be released. I got a pre-order but they had to wait until full release. I played and finished and stayed mum as long as I could. I was upset by the ending but didn't want to spoil the game for them until I had to. I thought the arguments in the forums MIGHT hold water: that maybe the ending wasn't THE ending, that indoctrination MIGHT be the answer, or some other trick may be in the works waiting until shortly after the general, worldwide release to be revealed. But then the developer notes came out, Hudson had his repeated say in interviews. I then realized that the end was what it was so I DID warn my father and sister away from it. I told them the game was GREAT all the way up to the end, where you kill the last enemy Marauder Shields (moment of silence for the HERO Marauder Shields). I told them that if they wanted to be able to keep playing the series and replay ME3 to NOT go past this point.

They do not do forums. They don't do online polls. They are deeply disappointed in the endings and stopped playing. My sister congratulated me on me getting EA Games to agree to exchange my ME3 with another game of my choice. I don't know what they are going to do (refund, exchange, hold it but never play it again). You know an even bigger problem for them? They do NOT do MP. Ever. They do NOT like to play MP games. So, even if they DO play through to the bitter BITTER end, they get the worst versions of each ending possible because they will NEVER have a galactic readiness rating above 50%, wont max out their EMS, etc. So while I can take SOME comfort in Shepard taking a breath at the end on the rubble pile in the Red ending (he survived but everyone he knows and loves is doomed to die out on Jurassic Park planet), they don't even get that.
