I'll trust the 93% and 94% critic reviews that people actually use to buy games.

So? You may not consider Amazon user reviews to be valuable, but casual gamers do. Casual gamers are the people that will be buying the game over the next months.

A low score on Amazon is not good.

don't know what age you live in but parents don't read reviews off amazon. they buy what their child has been asking for. Casual gamers won't buy a 3rd installment unless they played the rest. waste of effort and time on the trolls but then what isn't wasted time in their life?

I laughed pretty hard at the first one you see because obviously, the person was not intelligent.
People who loved the game so much for the past 5 years, instantly hate the game cause of a bad ending. I mean yeah it had a crap ending. I believe Harvest Moon had a better ending.

I won't spoil in here cause I don't want to see the banhammer but people are really starting to be ridiculous because of the ending.
On a Youtube Mass Effect 3 easter egg video I was watching , some guy feels that BioWare needs to give him his money back. *facepalm*

That's kind of what.........we all know they're trolling Amazon. Even with crap endings the game is most definitely NOT 1-2 stars.

Well that is your opinion and you are welcome to have it.  I agree with them however that as the game sits right now with the current endings 1 star is being generous.

Folks should not have to put up with a product that is good 95% of the time.  IMHO the ending fails in such a spetacular way that it ruins not only this game but the preceeding 2 games before it.  Many feel this way and are giving it the score that they think it deserves.

Until bioware starts to feel pain in the wallet they aren't going to do anything.

How old are you? The average gamer is 34 years old. People buy their own games.

Gaming is a $25 billion dollar industry and Amazon gets a piece of that. Lots of people buy games on Amazon (especially since BioWare sh!tcanned Steam) and those user reviews are very easy to see when you look at the game.

Most gamers use review sites or professional reviews, not MC/Amazon user reviews.

Review sites have this game at around 94% on average. So when someone looks how good this game is doing, they will usually see the 94% and likely buy it. This fact reflects the amazing sales.

Noone cares about a big group of BSN/4Chan whiners going around and sabotaging user reviews -> Its not working.  People know what you're up to, and most casuals don't use those to buy a game.

In other words, bioware won.

There are over 700 reviews across all platforms on Amazon. The average for ME3 is 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Both ME1 and ME2 got 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Even DA2 got 3.5 out of 5 stars.

lower than DA2 yikes thats some serious rensentment.

Yeah I have lost faith in the fan base.  Bioware had one hiccup at the end of what was an amazing game.  The fan base it seems has finally lost their nut.

This is like saying you only drove off the cliff *once*. :?

It's not just a bad ending, it breaks the entire premise of the series.  If my choice mattered then tell me the difference in Wrex's/Wreav's choice when leading the Krogan's.  Tell me what major effect saving/killing the Arachni queen had in the first game?  What about saving the collector base?  The only difference I see is the dialogue at the time and the EMS score you obtain and what kind of EMS score you need to get ridiculously similar endings.   In reality your choice has always been an illusion in terms of the effect you had on the universe.

Its amazing how people react nowadays. They either say it's 'THE BEST GAME EVA!!!!' or they say 'THIS IS THE WORST GAME IN EXISTENCE!!!!' No middle ground anymore, no logical reviews, nothing. Doesn't matter if you say the ending is crap, giving a game like ME3 a 2 star for only that reason is ridiculous. If someone actually logically looked at this game, pointed every aspect of it (story, gameplay, voice acting, music, etc.) and they explained why it was crap, and how it could be better? Than I could see a two star rating

As is though? With a game like this? No, not acceptable to give a rating for only one aspect of a game. This is simply fanboy rage

They won once the $60 was handed over to them.

The ranting is merely a consolation prize... and no longer purchasing/intentionally boycotting their next title(s)/DLC(s) will be how the angry consumer wins.

If Bioware doesn't wise up, then they'll only continue losing fans until they're out of business.

Yeah, I stopped putting any credence into user reviews or these communities' loudest opinions a long time ago, since they're incredibly disparate from my own evaluation of the games' quality (which is much closer in line with the official reviews, generally). Unfortunately, user reviews will sway the sales and general opinion, so it's kind of a problem. Not sure if salvageable at this point, maybe they should just fold up the company. Or really shake up their public relations department, at least (can't name names or anything, but... *cough*). Obviously, they're doing something wrong.

Or the fans just suck, but I suppose that would be a rather uncouth thing to say.

What, review sites like Metacritic? User reviews suck there too.

You're right, if people look only at professional reviews, BioWare will be in good shape. However, I've got some bad news for you...

Gotta consider word of mouth too. That's a big one.

By the way, what is your source for your "amazing sales" statement?

the more we tell the developers and everyone else who is listening that regardless of what anyone does as long as you have a brand, you can put anything out there and people will buy it.

Consumers are losing the battle for better games, quality games.
When a product didn't deliver their promise to their consumers its our right as an consumer to demand change. Why is it our right? Because its our duty to other gamers and the future of gaming that we make it known to everyone that if you give products incomplete we will not be afraid to spread the word. We as consumers will buy from your competitors because its not OUR privilege to play their creations, its their privilege for their product to be bought by us and to be played by US the consumers.

We need to let every developer out there know that Incomplete products will not pass, we are the ones that put food on your tables. We don't demand you to cater to our needs, we just want an complete product. Give us what you promised, if you promised. Tell the consumers that buying your products is better than buying it from your competitors, give us the reasons.

We must stop this growth of Less and Less content for products that is growing more and more expensive.

Review bombing, need I say more?

Completely undeserved when you look at the whole game. Yes, ending sucks but the rest of the game is actually good and doesn't deserve anything close to a bad grade.

If I am buying an item at Amazon, I most certainly look at the reviews from there.  I think most consumers can read a review and figure out if it's trolls or buttkissers or if it's an honest review.

The most important thing to remember about any review is that it's only an opinion. Whether it's professional or consumer—it is an opinion. Like all opinions, most are biased simply for the fact that you base it on your experience. I have come across movies/books/songs etc. that have had raving reviews only to come to the opinion they were complete rubbish and I have seen some low reviews that I thought were completely unwarranted.

I give as much credence to those stating the last five minute of the game was horrible as I do to those claiming it was 99% perfect. The game has a lot of issues and the ending is just a glaring one. Between plot holes, inconsistencies, the way some romances were treated, dilution of TIM and the complete skimming over of some decisions, and issues with EMS, I would give it a 6.5/10. So, “omg this game sucks because of the last five minutes!” holds as much weight to me as “omg this game is super amazing!” However, that is my opinion. And everyone has one. Being a review snob is pointless.

Absolutely right, Novate. ME3 is a product that does not work as advertised. It is defective. Features that were marketed to us are completely absent, and those are key features. We were told it is the game where our choices would matter more than ever before, we were told we would have "Wildly Divergent" endings and that we would have good closure. None of those things are true. The customer has every right to complain about a product in which they were sold a false bill of goods.

They lost on the sales front too. Opening sales were lower than predicted pre-orders between 800-900k. Now that does not sound too bad it's in the ball park for a Bioware release. However....

CoD opening day sales 8-9 million and cost a fraction of what ME3 cost to make. EA can't survive on Bioware sales numbers and ME3 was the biggest chance they were ever going to have to break into the CoD/Skyrim league.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees it that way.  I would not have got the product if I knew that the ending would completely destroy the biggest draw of the series.

The reviews are important to most people. Lots of reviews provide a wealth of informaton.
