As the title states, this thread will not be about the ending at all, in any way. If you want to discuss the ending there are about 12 different threads on the topic already, one of which is permanently on the front page.

Also, please don't whine. Whining will be considered spam and off-topic. If you think a feature or mechanic sucks, tell us why, and what you think Bioware could do to fix it. I know many of you think of Bioware as a SOB right now, but if this can stay up, perhaps we can let Bioware know what else we liked and didn't like, because those 9/10 and 10/10 reviews certainly aren't telling Bioware anything useful.

Moving on, something that struck me was that the introduction of Thermal Clips was actually a terrible idea. Not by Bioware (well, technically yes by Bioware), but in-fiction it makes no sense. If you've downloaded From Ashes, you get a weapon that behaves exactly like every single weapon from ME1. If you read the weapon's description, it says that the Protheans made the Particle Rfle with a recharging ammo supply so they wouldn't have to rely on supply lines. Just like every single weapon from ME1 effectively had infinite ammo, so does the Particle Rifle.

Hang on a second; do you mean to tell me that the various species of the galaxy just gimped themselves HARD by making every single weapon require thermal clips? This even goes back to Mass Effect 2, but less so because our supplies aren't being destroyed. I mean, if you took the weapons from ME1 and put them in ME2 and 3, would gameplay suffer? I doubt it. ME1 literally solved the problem of reloading- you had infinite ammo and your weapon could overheat, but you could use it again after a short time. In Mass Effect 3, though, you're boned if you run out of thermal clips, and soldiers everywhere are similarly boned if their supply lines get cut.

There's also the cover mechanics. In a perfect game, there would be cover options, the ability to jump (even Modern Warfare 3 has a jump button), and the ability to scrable around buildings and terrain like you're from Assassin's Creed. But in ME3, because everything is on one button, it can become an annoyance when you're surrounded by cover. I've died before because Shepard slammed into cover when I'm trying to get on the other side of it, or stuck to a wall I couldn't see while he's getting his stomach shot off.

But by far, the two biggest issues are:
1) Loading times and loading screens. I spent nearly ten minutes trying to looks at my armor. Not all of it, mind you, but a shoulder piece. It didn't even load. I ended up restarting my xbox, which thankfully worked. Installing it is supposed to help, but at the time I didn't have enough space (original 12gb HDD 99% full) to do so, so I was stuck with insane loading time. As for the loading screens: what happened to in-game loading? The Elevators in the first game were boring as hell, yeah, but at least something was happening. More of that would be great. Instead, we got fancy spreadsheets in ME2 and the game equivalent of a .gif screen in ME3. Bioware, we like immersion in our games. You did it wonderfully in ME1, now do it again.

--Side note: why is there a security checkpoint on my own ship? I really loved stopping for ten seconds while two women babble on about god knows what while I am forced to stand there and get screened. On my own ship. You know, I played a paragon Shepard, but even I would tell them to bugger off. I have a galaxy to save and I don't have time for your inane screenings. Not only is Shepard a Spectre, he's also the leader of the galactic fleet. Shepard can literally do whatever the crap he wants to.

2) The quest tracking, or lack thereof: Good lord. I mean... just wow. You know, I wouldn't mind dozens of pointless side quests, but then not giving us ANY way to track them? That's just icing on the cake, and the cake is made of failure. The failure of me not doing those quests because I had to go to the journal, look at the quest, exit the journal, go to the galaxy map, wait for it to load, go to the system, forget the planet, exit the galaxy map, go to the journal, look it up (again), go back to the galaxy map, get the thing, then do it again for the next six side quests. Either put everything on the Galaxy map, or give us something like what Skyrim has, because what Skyrim has works.

So, ladies and gentlemen of the BSN, what did you like or dislike about ME3? What features could they improve? Remember, Constructive Criticism gets heard, whining like a fool gets a facepalm and a report.
