Install the dexterity bug fix to make piecring weapings (bows, daggers,..) to behave as intended.

Bows now matters! As well as enemy archers.

Is Archery really that bad?

There are youtube videos of a guy soloing on Nightmare with an archery build, so how bad could it be? It was one of a few builds that could even do that.
I was thinking of seeing how far I could get with a ranger/bard build and just the pet and Dog in my party. Or an all archer/pet party on a higher difficulty might be interesting. Something like ranger/duelist PC with pet, Leliana as bard/ranger with pet, Dog and maybe Morrigan in bear form only (no casting allowed).
