Synthesis and destroy are both morally and ethically wrong.
People only like destroy cause Shepard lives.

But at least me and Tali can build that house on Rannoch.
Well, maybe Tali can, but Shepard can't build anything. Gotta have arms and legs to do that.
As to the OP, the best ending is whichever one you think is best...
... if we're to ignore the leaked script on ME3.

I like synthesis! It looks out on an optimistic future full of possibilities!
I like control! It does a great job of preserving the status quo of the Mass Effect universe I so love.
I like destroy! It's a big hoorah moment, with explosions. And Shepard lives sometimes!
I like refuse! It has a great speech and looks to a future victory.
Edit: Damnit, Ruggly, that is the cutest necromancy picture.

the best ending is where shepard lives. any ending where shepard goes out like a wimp just dont do justice to the 100s of hours you put into the game trilogy.
Yes, living as a nugget sounds wonderful.

Synthesis, though I don't believe is ethical to force on the galaxy, I don't have any problem with the integration of technology. There is peace but it just wouldn't sit well with everyone's freewill.
Also there isn't much debate in the scene with the catalyst over his assumption that synthetics and organic must always be in conflict. Galactic society can learn from the Geth/Quarien war. It is one thing that the Extended Cut never addressed. I wish my Shepard said “No, you're wrong and have are making an assumption considering I just brokered peace for the Geth and Quariens”.
Control is a sour note, clearly. The extended cut is a bit creepy. The theory is fine but indoctrination is the most obvious with this choice.
I just don't trust the Reapers or the Catalyst due to their indoctrination techniques so there is a gamble in choosing Control or Synthesis and I do believe the breathe scene is a sign of something else going on. Bioware could have just had Shepard die in the explosion ??? I believe something insidious is going on with that whole event and Control and Synthesis aren't easy decisions because of that. I mean come on, when you shoot the catalyst his voice changes, like what the ****?
I would have probably chosen Refusal if I was really in the situation (as dumb as it might be).
I have no problem with my Shepard dying, so if I don't understand why there is a breathe scene for Destroy and it is not an incentive for me choosing that.
The ending seems to be a big ****, Marry, Kill scenerio.
*note I'm just organizing my thoughts so nevermind me.

Something I wrote on someone else post, but this is what I've been thinking...
Well, it's one of the things I've been thinking about, but ask yourself this.
Why does the Reaper child have to be honest with you? He makes the destroy option the least attractive out of the three. If Shepard is alive, it also proves the point that Synthetics did not die (or least you can think that way.) For instance Dr. Chakwas (sorry for misspelling) scans your synthetics for anything bad (Due to Cerberus) and stating that you had a lot replaced. If half of your body depends on those to live, and yet you're still alive...
Just my theory though.
Good point, this makes me feel slightly better about Destroy.

None.
(in other words:) I can't choose. If there was a (government) election, I'd put in a blank vote as many Swedes do when they feel there is no party that appeals them/their issues and concerns (instead of not voting at all, they do that to express their disappointment -- or they vote for Donald Duck, as many still do here)
I really can't tell, except I do not like them very much (so I'd go for destroy, since that has been my Shep's goal all along, but betraying my allies with it does not feel good - at all!).

And the Asari states there is now peace because of how ME3 ended, or well due to what's in the archives Liara left....
Hmmm...is that "the happy ending"? I wonder...letting the cycle continue

Synthesis is forcing change and evolution on every species in the galaxy. A paragon quote from Shepard in ME1 is "Not if we loose our humanity in the process". Synthesis is doing just that. Also, in control and synthesis the Reapers survive. They are abominations, we saw how Reapers are created in ME2. They are made partially from genetic information of millions of civilisations. Destroying the Reapers will put their ghosts to rest. Also, destroying the Reapers was the overall goal of the three games. Choosing a other option seems to spit on everyones sacrifices.

Paragon =/= morally correct. Was pistol-whipping Archer in the face morally correct? No. Was it Paragon? Yes.

OK, but then all the choices are Paragon since the Stargazer's happy with Shepard whatever he did.
