The first time I refused. Even though the cycle was successful, we were able to prevent the next cycle from succeeding.

However, if I get the chance, i would go with control. I do not see why becoming the reaper controller means eternity as an AI. Anyone that has read about what AI is and theories behind uploading know that an AI is really no different from real intelligence. The only difference is that AI is housed inside a synthetic. Everything else is the same. I'm talking about a true AI. EDI and Legion (after Reaper upgrade) were excellent examples of true AI. The Catalyst honestly came off more like an uber advance VI rather than a true AI. The same with the Reapers. EDI inquiring as to whether the reapers functioned like the Geth, as a consensus (not true AI), might have been the right answer.

By controlling the Reapers, you could help reconstruct everything and finally dismantle and eliminate the Reapers for good. As soon as you stopped the harvest, you would stabilize your unconscious body (I do not know if your body survives the upload). If your body does not survive the upload...well rebuild it, wouldn't be the first time. After the Reapers are dismantled, re-upload yourself back to your body. You would possibly be out a couple of years at most. Then you can get back to your life.

At least this would have been a plausible scenario if the writers had permitted it. I honestly just make up my own ending. The original endings had my femshep come off as an idiot.
