 So I just beat the first mass effect (fantastic game) for the first time and had a question; would you suggest I play through all three games with the character I have to see the story unfold, and then go back and do the second playthrough of all 3, or should I play through the first game twice, then the second game twice, then the third game twice?

Character 1: ME1 --> ME2 --> ME3 --> character 2: ME1 --> ME2 --> ME3

-or-

ME1: char 1 --> char 2 --> ME2: char 1 --> char 2 --> ME3: char 1 --> char 2

Hopefully I'm making sense, just wondering if it will be one of those games where after playing the third or second the first will seem waaaay too old or whether it will be fun to revisit and see the whole story unravel again. All opinions and thoughts welcome, just explain the reasons for whatever you think so I can understand.
Thanks in advance!!

Go on once, so you can make different choices the next play through, you'll get more out of it

All three games are made for the same stoneage old xbox360. So no differences. ME3 gained a bit in graphics, but lost in other areas(animations etc). Overall quality is limited by console limits.

It depends on what you think of the combat. I find Mass Effect 1's combat to be irritating after playing Mass Effect 2, and I only play through it now to get a character for Mass Effect 2.

It also depends on how anxious you are to complete the trilogy. If you really want to see how everything turns out, play Mass Effect 2 then Mass Effect 3 with your first character. If you really like Mass Effect 1 and want to see how it plays out again with different choices (while you may still remember which choices you made), then play each game twice with different characters so you can see how different things can turn out in Mass Effect 3.

Not sure what you are trying to say here.

It's really up to you. I played the first one 4 times through before I got ME2, played ME2 3 times through, and then went back to ME1 to get all the achievements and try different classes. After that I played a bunch more ME2 :)

I don't know what you would like the best. For me, going back to ME1 after ME2 was somewhat annoying in that the combat is not as fun to me. Story is nice but the combat is more "tedious" in the first game. Granted, part of that is because I was playing on Insanity. Unless you want the challenge it is probably more fun to play on a lower level.

All in all I would lean towards playing ME1 a few times through before going to ME2. Then doing the same for ME2 before ME3.

All games are same no matter what.

I personally like ME1 insanity combat more than in later games. Its more strategical. On insanity enemies love to regenerate, which forces the player to make nice assault attacks and plan ahead and infinite ammo makes for a nice suppressive fire action. ME2 is the usual shoot&run and eventually the enemy dies no matter how strong. Then again weak builds will get severe problems on me1 insanity due to lack of damage output or crowd control. me2 insanity and  me1 low difficulty are way easier and can be beaten with everything. Why people play Insanity with random builds and expect to beat it, is beyond my understanding.

some earlier post, i realize its a bit biased, but you cant really screenshot the lack of, say, weapon holstering in me3.

huh, textures seems okay to me. Not much has changed, xbox is xbox. Point in case:

So the combat on one is a little outdated, but not enough to make it unplayable after the others is what I'm hearing here. I was worried about a morrowind to skyrim type gap, which made morrowind impossible to go back to despite its story line, at least for me. Other than that just personal preference on how I want to see the story unfold?

Combat is the same in all three games, unless playing me1insanity with certain classes. Skyrim friendly analogy: its like playing Master with a pure destruction mage. Cant really die, but killspeed just doesnt make it. But yeah some me1 skills are pretty ridiculous (immunity) wouldnt touch them at all, completely break the game. Not really sure why are you still here and not playing. :D

I ordered ME2 but it won't get here for a few days, hence the question of playing through ME1 again or waiting for it to arrive :)
