You're right. Halo was a great trilogy, I enjoyed it a lot, including ODST and Reach, but the story was entirely pre-determined. I believe Mass Effect is the only trilogy where the majority of the story is decided by the player. That's what's amazing here.

I, like many others, hated the ending. But that does not ruin the entire game for me. I have seen many movies, read many books and played many games in which the endings completely sucked, and while they do prevent such movies, books or games from becoming overall Masterpieces, I can still get past that one flaw and continue to enjoy the majority of the story.
I'm only speaking for myself here, but I do think ME3 is an amazing game.

There are many types of people with regard to strength of character; but those that concern this issue are the ones who are unable to see or believe that another may have an opinion that either matters or cannot be changed, and they are wrong.

I believe most strongly that Bioware have produced an absolutely brilliant, genre changing game, and that it deserves respect and praise. I doubt my opinion will be changed but I am willing to discuss it, if only for the craic.

Yes, Bioware has done a great job. They have, however, sadly allowed the bar to drop and alienated many hardcore fans because of the import problem. I consider my N7 edition of the game faulty because of it. It is petty, I know, but it is the truth. All those hours of work, all my hours of fun in their sandbox, tainted because of poor quality control...so very sad...

I just want to congratulate Bioware. By seeing the Mass Effect trilogy through to its conclusion, you guys did something no one else has done. Something no one else thought possible. An epic, memorable, even controversial story spanning three huge, critically and commercially acclaimed games. And it was nearly entirely player driven. Regardless of how people feel about the ending, you guys got that sh*t done.

Thank you for allowing us to experience one of gaming's most brilliant sagas, one which all other RPGs will undoubtedly be compared to from here on out. You've raised the bar exceedingly high, and I firmly believe I speak for the majority of your fans when I say you deserve the pat on the back a select, vocal few seem unwilling to give you.
