The Normandy is fleeing because they had FMV of the Normandy fleeing and wanted to use it. It was clearly created for a very different ending from the one we received. I bet it made perfect sense, in it's original context. The gaping holes left when this original sequence got chopped up are the plot holes that truly ruined the endings beyond recovery.

If you're going to scrap your big finale, scrap it and START OVER. Splicing disparate scenes from divergent endings = FAIL.

Even if it somehow was possible for Joker to pick them up, they're still dead, and then suddenly alive in some playthroughs.

THIS. The ending was wastly different at first. When they decided to change it they for some wierd reason left several parts in it that kinda make you scratch your head because they just don't fit with the rest.  This screams we ran out of time/maybe money and had to put something together fast with what we already had.

I really don't get why I, as Shepard can talk to Hackett.. I can quite easily call EDI to ask her to fix some missiles.. but when asked to blow up the cruicible and make a cool choice.. you can't say anything to Joker? Why can I still have Hackett tell me it's not working over comms and converse with him? :\\ I don't wanna tell Hackett that I'm bleeding out..? I either have an earpiece or I don't.. It's not like I take anything off so why wouldn't Shepard call out a destroy..?
