The retreat call was just Coats (Big Ben guy) talking with a female voice about the lack of success at rushing the beam....even the devs are confused lol wtf

Please, Joker could have just as well fled as he saw the energy waves from Crucible. Or maybe the battle wasn't going their way and he thought it was the only course of action. There could be dozens of reasons. We aren't just given one.

Regardless of why he was fleeing, WHY DID THE CRUCIBLE DAMAGE THE NORMANDY AND NOTHING ELSE?

Exactly. That means every single ship in the system would have been wiped out.

If you listen to the orders after Harbinger's laser, it's a retreat of the ground forces for a regrouping. It's not a retreat of the fleet.

Explanation fail.

^^ this.

Another PR fail? Total mess!

I've posted this a few times.  I used the tool available on the forums and took apart the audio in that section.  They deleted a section of audio where Joker comes in to save the day, hence how your teammates end up on the Normandy, but this would have been too much information for us to have.www.youtube.com/watch

Look around in space when you're up in the crucible. The battle in space is still going on, right up until you make your choice.

It makes no sense for the normandy to leave while all that is going on.

So telling everyone to retreat back to the relay and just abandoning the crucible, the one last chance for victory, a very easy to hit target over to the enemy?
Yeah that makes sense.

The Fall back order is for THE GROUND FORCES, not for the fleet, the fleet was still protecting the Crucible while we were running to meet Marauder Shields

It would be physicly IMPOSSIBLE to get to the Relay in time even if Joker left before even the push.

So... Hammer was decimated, and the fleet retreated through the Sol relay. After Joker had somehow collected the groundside squad members. Abandoning Hackett, the crucible, the escort fleet and the once chance of victory they had.

Well, ok then. If you say so? Question mark?

i call bs on this tweet. Because I'm pretty sure they were saying they couldn't reach the beam of light and needed ot pull back, not the fleet. And why would he be running? And why does he look behind himself to see whats chasing?

So my squad ran back to regroup after the Harbinger attack, decided to give up, hopped a shuttle back to the Normandy and left the ground forces to die?

Not really seeing that as enough. Yes, there was a call for retreat, but it was in a communication between Coats and some other ground forces. I'm pretty sure Coats wouldn't have the authority to order the entire fleet back. Plus, clearly Hackett was still around and the battle was still going while Shepard sat next to Anderson. In fact, what Hacket said clearly indicated that he knew Shepard was in the Citadel, even if he wasn't sure if Shepard was alive. If Hackett wasn't willing to fall back, I really doubt if Joker would start running. This is the same guy who covered us at the end of ME2 even though a gun would probably break his arms.

There are certain things BioWare PR shouldn't be addressing. This is one of those things.

Perhaps, or perhaps not.

This is one of those things I wish they would show a bit more. All I want to the endings is a bit of meat around events like this. I don't mind the beams doing what they do, they are just advanced tech.
