All in all, despite not really enjoying the ending, I loved the fact, that BW deliberately sidestepped the cliche "giant monster comes out of nowhere, avoid it's pattern attacks and shoot it in the weak spot" ending. I think of games like Arkham Asylum, Halo 3, or numerous others whose narrative impac has been lessened because they tried to shoehorn in a giant boss battle when a simple dialogue exchange would have done the job much better. The fact that they showed restraint in this regard at least demonstrates that they cared, even if you think they totally effed up.
Wait, people actually WANTED another "epic boss fight"?

I think of the idiotic Terminator Human Reaper-bot, and think the lack of a final boss was solid. That was the one part of the ending that was good. But then that Space Gold Baby Reaper Child BS popped up, and suddenly I understood that there were epic heights of fail Bioware aspired to.

I didn't really care for a boss fight, I just wanted all loose ends tied up....and hope.

IDK, it's not the lack of boss battle that I'm missing. The plot holes and broken promises are my problem with the ending. Also I find the end choices silly and they ignore my choices over the 3 games.

We did get one; We got Marauder Shields. NEVER FORGET

I liked both the boss fights from ME1 and 2.
I'm OK without one for ME3, but I would have liked some kind of conflict with Harbinger like Rannoch.

It's either done incredibly well: Zelda...or extremely bad: Bioshock. I'm glad too.

Harbinger. Not even a verbal confrontation. Unforgivable.

Not having a final boss was a good idea imo, it -should- have given space to dialogue and explanations..but...we all know what we got

what if the catylist said, I will save everything, if you can destroy Harbinger by youre self!!!
then harbinger flies down and lands on the platform, and says "If I have to rip you apart shepard,I will"

Well, think of it this way... he was right. There was no way to defeat the reapers. Shep just took longer to give in.

No boss fight was fine. In fact, possibly better.
Starchild - hell everything after the elevator ride - not fine.
Besides, Marauder Shields was a boss.

It wouldn't bother me if we had an epic last confrontation with Harbinger, because he's definitely a villain I can take satisfaction in seeing personally killed. I don't care how they could have done it, but I would have enjoyed that.
But yeah, the ending didn't NEED it. if done right, couldn't have hurt.

Yeah, if the boss fight was just "Harbinger Persuades You" or something I wouldn't have cared. The Angry One wrote...

TIM controlling a reconstructed human reaper could have been a cool boss fight with his magic indoctrination powers.

but I liked having an end of level boss, ME1 was Saren, ME2 was the Human Reaper, and ME3: 3 Roads to nowhere, where I have to take one of the paths to avoid "The Pattern".

I think an epic boss fight would've been expected for the finale of the trilogy.
I can think of one boss that would make sense, Harbinger.
Think Shadow of the Colossus, with guns.
Shep's crazy enough to do it.
