This is the type of thing where you start to leave the reasonable realm of simply rejecting the endings and moving into the less reasonable realm of telling the devs and the fans how the game should have been done EXACTLY.

Some people would have liked a final boss fight, maybe some wouldn't have. All that matters is if the ending is fixed at this point, I don't think a final boss would be a terrible thing here.

I think not having a final boss for ME3 was a good idea. I can't really think of how they could send the series out with a bang with a final boss. Maybe a final show down with Harbinger? Maybe.

I do think final bosses CAN be a huge thing when done right. The ending of every MGS (especially 3 and 4) were MADE by their final boss fights, so they're not always bad.

I loved the Mako too, ok Mako it is, just thought seeing as Harbinger decimates a pile of Mako's .... point still stands

Would have liked a TIM/Harby version of Saren/Sovereign

I really though when anderson died (or seems to died) it was the end, and I was like "this is it, ME is finished, Shepard is dying, but he saved them all. He never expected to survive anyway".

That's really sad the next thing you have is starchild who destroy EVERYTHING. My advice, once anderson die, quit the game.

That's how ME ends for me. Once Shepard's at that console, power button time and fade to black.

No need for a boss fight, but the final battle sequence could have been a lot more climactic and meaningful.  Sure, technically you're fighting Harbinger, but really he's a mile away only shooting lasers at you at the climax - the final battle is really against a bunch of faceless grunts while you defend a tank.  It's good, and it's tougher than what came before, but I was really expecting something more epic and with more meaning.  After that fight ended, I was gearing up in my head for a huge battle to take back the Citadel once I took the beam up.  Imagine my disappointment when I got to the credits and realized that fight with random trash mobs while Harbinger stood far away that I barely registerd it was him was the last fight of the game.

It wasn't terrible, and it was better than baby space terminator, but the final battle sequence could have been a lot better and more meaningful.  It felt like it was leading up to something, then it just sort of sputtered to a stop.

What about something that satisfies everyone?
The whole POINT of the mass effect series?
Choice. Give people a renegade interrupt to avoid it, otherwise, we can fight it.

Honestly, when you think about it, Kai Leng was the only proper/traditional boss fight in the game.

Have to agree with this. As for boss fight, i do not care about it one way or another - would've liked a well-structured ending though...

Though I tend to enjoy epic boss fights for my endgames, it isn't always necessary.

Totally could have gotten behind fighting the TIM!Reaper....if he was possessed by Harbinger. :D

I don't know about you guys, but the reaper destroyer at end seemed like a boss fight to me. Once the destroyer gets close enough, you have to dodge it's laser beams while simultaneously fighting hordes of banshees and other Reaper forces. From that point, you had to wait a bit for a prompt to destroy it with missiles. Sure, it didn't play out like a standard boss fight, but it still was a boss fight to me.

I'd happily go without a boss fight. I wouldn't mind seeing a longer exchange with TIM though. Martin Sheen does amazing voice over work.

I'm missing this whole "Marauder Shields" thing. Someone care to catch me up?

What is with all this hipster ire against final bosses? Harbinger is obviously the final boss... And you have to figure out a way to deal with him. Either with a weapon, or better yet, inside of him.

You can count me down as PRO FINAL BOSS.

The Marauder right before you go to the Citadel up the magic beam. The point is that he died trying to save us from The Ending. (And yes, it does deserve capitalisation)

I'm pretty sure at least 50% of the Mass Effect population wanted to **** slap Harbinger.

Going inside a reaper again would have been cool. Maybe see more of the flesh-y guts inside one.

If they're going to release another epic boss battle with future downloadable content, it better be epic, and not a repeat of ME2. Though I will get a good laugh if the third boss is a T-1000.

I'm not that off put by the lack of a boss fight. Would be cool to have something; maybe easily avoidable if you make all the right decisions. Like if you fail to shoot TIM, rather than get a Critical Mission Failure, he fires and you dodge, and then have to fight him or something. Or even, after that, a one on one confrontation with Harbinger depending on your dialogue choices.

Or just beef up Marauder Shields, and have a confrontation with him before reaching the final level. ^_^

I had been hoping to face down Harbinger that whole ending. Either verbally, or in an actual boss fight of some kind. (Perhaps drawing on the fleet elements you accumulated over the game.) He was so important in ME2, why did they ditch him? An unnamed reaper gets more lines and screen time.

Final boss should be Harbinger's core.

Something completely alien in nature that we have never seen before.

Kind of like how the human reaper was meant as a core, Harbinger's core would be similar, but from the first alien race conquered.  And completely fully functional, unlike the baby human reaper.

Actually boarding Harbinger? That would have been an awesome finale.
