He annoyed me, BUT he was a good character. Except for the accent. I hate giving aliens accents from Earth. Don't take a page from Lucas. Please don't.

You'd think people on here would be more intelligent then to expect some loving mother Protehan.

It was clear in past games the Protheans were the dominant race of their cycle and as we learned they are far more advanced then even the species of our cycle and look what it did for them. While our cycle squandered with civil war and galactic conflicts between races the Protheans laid down the hammer and progressed so far as to create the conduit and give our cycle much hope that has lead us here. If it were not for the Protheans being so dominant and resiliant they may have left behind nothing for us to find and Ilos would have been found and eradicated.
It is foolish to be mad at how he is somewhat hostile. He grew up in war, he knew no peace, he probably had to fight for his life every moment While the galaxy is ablaze he has some random Asari asking him a bunch of questions that he probably doesn't instead of fighting.

He is true to himself, blunt, and honest. I liked him.

I didn't like him (as a person; too rude and arrogant), but he has character and I can understand how he feels (He was born while the Reapers were already harvesting). I like having him as a character.
Now Jacob in ME2 and Vega in ME3... <facepalm>
Don't get me started, but those two are the most cliche and stereotype chars I've seen. Whenever I talked to Jacob or Vega on the Normandy I just rolled my eyes.

I liked him. It was interesting to see Liara (my canon LI) have her perspective on Protheans totally proved wrong in this case. He was a jerk, sure, but no more of a jerk than Zaeed was in ME2. Plus, he does change through the game, saying how far the species have come, and showing disbelief at the Citadel embassies over how species co-operated instead of ruling over one another like the Protheans did.
I thought his accent would bother me when I saw the leaked youtube video of it, but in the game it worked well. Granted, I've always been a big fan of Reggae, so Javik's similair accent wasn't really new on my ears so I suppose it was less of a shock than for some others. I quite liked it after I listened to him talk for a few minutes.
Plus, "They used to eat flies" had me dying of laughter. I just got the image of Mordin licking his own eyeball after downing a fly. One of the funniest lines in the game imo
