***********Another Edit- solution found!**************
if anyone else has the same issues that I do- this is what I recommend:

1) Disable the cloud storage in the origin window.
2) Erase the save files from your hard drives.
3) Start a new game and proceed to finish it as normal.
4) do NOT enable the cloud storage in the origin window ever again.

It seems that the save files in my origin cloud storage were corrupted, and despite uninstalling and reinstalling, the glitch still presists. The only way to get rid of the glitch is to disable the cloud storage entirely.

Hope that helps others out there!

**************EDIT***************** I have added screenshots below for evidences. A few posts down.

Hello, I am currently doing the mission "Citadel: The Return" for the game, Mass Effect 3. It is the part after I got attacked by a reaper outside the light beam. I wandered to the light beam, and a cutscene ensured, where I spoke with Anderson. After that, I am in the red hallway/bridge with dead human bodies scattered about, and several keepers attending to the bodies.
I wandered down the hallway to the big doors at the end, but it doesn't open. I checked the youtube, and I saw the doors was supposed to open automatically. After asking around, I discovered that I was supposed to hear Anderson talking as I wander down the hallway. But I couldnt hear or see any talking. Just me wandering down the hallway. I even went back to the beginning of the hallway to see if I could trigger anything.
I have tried the following-
-Select "Repair Install" in origin for mass effect 3.
-Uninstalled the game completely, and then reinstalled the game again.
-Restarted the whole "Taking Earth back" mission again, from the beginning. When I returned to the red hallway after redoing it, i still had the same issue of the doors not opening.
-I asked the tech support, but they said it's a gameplay issue.
-I asked on the Bioware forums, and they said it's a technical issue.
I've been going around in circles for the past three days. I am stuck in this room, and i cannot proceed. The doors simply wont open, and nothing I do seem to work. I even jumped off the bridge into the water, but i just fall down endlessly, unable to move.
This is my last resort. If you guys can't help me, then I just cant play the game anymore due to this game-breaking bug.

It's the Reapers' ultimate strategy: Troll Shepard with doors that don't open.

I emailed tech support about this. And they said yet again, "this is a gameplay issue". Any help from a fellow gamer?

To be clear, I already walked all over this room, I fell off at the beginning of the hallway (The portal where u teleported in, the wall i was able to go thru and fall off. I walked along the bridge, in the middle and along the edges. I also tried to fall off into the waters. When looking at the end of the hallway, there was a thin white bridge off to the right, and i walked on that too. I walked on the piles of corpses. I did everything under the sun and the glow of monitor. I cannot trigger any conversation with Anderson. I cannot get past the doors.

if this isnt a glitch, i dont know what is.

Okay, that's it. I'm done with this game. The Mass Effect 3 game files were introduced to the recycle bin.

Reboot -> Restart the whole mission and try again.
Usualy rebooting and the restarting the mission fixes glitches like these.

Here are the screenshots.

This is where I ported in.

This is the foe I'm having troubles with.

The next three, evidences pointing to my insanity from wandering around and trying stuff.

I tried restarting the mission.

I tried going back to an earlier save.
Posted Image

I tried repair install.
Posted Image

I tried deleting the game and reinstalling brand new from the origin servers.
Posted Image

And when that didn't work, I just went ahead and began a new game.

Finally, last night, I came to the cursed doors once again. (Take a while to do the whole game before coming to that point.)

THE DOORS STILL WON'T OPEN!

Mere minutes away from the ending, and this game-breaking bug is preventing me from proceeding.

Any workaround? From the mods or anyone? Is there a cheat code that enables me to clip past the door? Any solutions?

inb4posts about door protecting you from endings.

In all seriousness, that's weird, because they *definitely* should open. And yeah, no green box, just automatic. And I've seen you've gone through all possible solutions, so I don't know... you seriously started a new game and it still didn't open? It can't be a copy defect, that seems unreal...

Reload from an earlier save (before the mission, possibly Horizon?) and go at it from there? I've learnt from having this experience with the other ME games that it's exceptionally good practice to consistently create a new save file after every mission.

Yes, I went back to an earlier save. (The point where I saved before beginning the whole "Take Earth Back" thing. Also, I even restarted a BRAND NEW game, and this issue still persists.

It's been days, and I have yet to find a solution.

If all else failed, which it sounds like it has - you could try emailing contact@bioware.com - even if they can't help you, hopefully they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Did you import the same character as the previous playthrough? Could be your character save file is corrupt?

Thank you for the email. I've shot off an email to that address. Let's hope something comes of it. =)
