I personally didn't like the endings because they had plot holes and presented Shepard with three choices, none of which had a 'win' outcome. The endings also seemed to introduce the supernatural, which just seem to jive well with the Mass Effect universe. Instead of a certain spoilery character the final conversation should have been with an avatar of Harbinger.

How about Ms Diana Allers? "Do we have to talk?" would love to talk, BUT THAT'S ALL YOU SAY!
Yeah - I think they actually forgot to give her a personality and some dialogue.
She has one good line that is also well delivered at the end - and thats it.

Garbage = unwanted, hence why we throw it out. Not so much of a difference afterall.
Has it ever occured that, from his perspective, the ending was both not what he wanted AND garbage? Differing opinions, and that happens to be his.

There's also a vast difference in the advertised product and the actual product. They would not pull a lost they said. They intended the ending to be speculative. Multiple radically different endings they said. Pick your color and watch the same basic cut scene. What you did in the previous games matters they said. Only as far as EMS. Diverges into wildly different conclusions based on your actions they said. Almost zero conclusions can be made.

again..finished the game...so i can safely say the "mob" are not fans, developers or even understanding of what went into these games.
ungrateful children fits it perfectly.
again..i have seen the endings.
Yes, fans can never be critical.

yes it occurred to me..as i said >
not what he wanted does not equate to "garbage"
unless of course you or he would like to create a game with a different ending so i can judge his standards of "garbage"
otherwise its simply more armchair dev`ing.
its going to be many years until a game surpasses this one and then people can say in comparison this was "garbage"
to me FRED on the zx speccy was garbae..but i played that for months

Forget it not being what I wanted. The fact that it wasn't what people wanted doesn't make it garbage. The fact the it was explicitly said that our choices throughout the trilogy would impact the ending makes it garbage. The fact that there are a number of huge plot holes make it garbage. The fact at their is a new character introduced within the last 3 minutes that isn't referenced anywhere else in any of the games, nor is explained at all makes it garbage. The fact that we have characters acting in a manner that was totally opposite of all of their actions throughout the series makes it garbage. The fact that the ending for all three choices is nearly identical other than the color makes it garbage.

Your whining is garbage, and quite frankly blind people like you don't deserve any new endings but if bioware does decide to add more endings via dlc I hope they charge you through the nose for it. I didn't like the endings either but condemning the whole game for it is stupid especialy when the game as a whole is a damn good game.

i see the problem between yours and my opinion now.
to me it was just a game, one computer game in so many.
I dont nitpick at plots and story or the so called "lore".
i just sit down and play a game for fun.
if the games good it will please me,as its somebody elses creation.
i dont feel the need to try and tell the creators what they did wrong as i am nowhere near their level of skill.
just like reading a book..if i dont like the ending i dont feel the need to chase the writer and inform him he did a bad job because i didnt like it.
besides if i did that he would probably just laugh at me and ask where my carer was.

Funny, being able to see the problems with the ending makes me blind. Can you honestly disagree with f the points that I made? Ok, we'll forget about the stupid kid thing, I'll give you that that one may be reaching a bit. But tmost of e other points, do you honestly not see what's wrong with these things? I'd really like to hear your point of view on these points

I don't need to be a professional game developer to know when something is borked. I may need to be one to know how to do it better, how it actually functions, but to know that it's borked, no, I don't need to be an expert.
Besides, as someone who has worked in the field, I'm wondering where their QA and other controls were. Someone, or rather more likely many people, had to have expected something like this. Bioware is big enough with a large enough pool of testers/writers/devs/marketers/etc that likely similar voices were raised internally and disregarded for one reason or another.
To take it one step further, we are consumers paying for a product. That product has very obviously failed many of us. As consumers, we have the right to ask for changes. They may say no, but we have every right to ask, and we can vote with our wallets next time around. The product was built to be a joint venture with the consumer in creating a story, and the writer-reader contract was violated in the ending, thus violating the principle on which most people entered into the venture.

Indeed. Plenty of plot holes and plenty of bad writing, especially with the reapers. The begining and end are the worst part.
But it does have closure. Not the closure some would want (details about what every crew member does). I don't get it why some complain that you don't see the aftermath. You already know the aftermath of each action. You are told what would happen.
The universe moves on, rebuilds.

You liked the game. Good for you.
I liked it, too! ... Until the last five minutes.
And now I can no longer enjoy my favorite game series of all time.
It was that bad.
In five minutes, everything the game meant to me was destroyed.
And it wasn't sad.
It wasn't powerful.
It wasn't thought-provoking.
It was just... dumb.
Unless their goal was to invalidate the entire series, in which case it was genius.
I'm tired and I don't feel like ranting anymore, but just poke around a little--you'll find a solid list as to why the endings sucked. Several lists, in fact. All well-written, all reasonable, all more than just fanwangst.
Yeah, some people are getting way too wangsty over this, but it's because they're upset.
I know I'm upset, at least.
