all boils down to greed... people shouldnt have to publicly post their IDs thats how systems get hacked.......

Simply put... as i said before... this multiplayer should HAVE NEVER been released... just look at the trouble from the DAY 1 DLC... Ending Fiasco... and now this issue thats now effecting people that have spent REAL MONEY.... bioware .. if you are not careful ... the ice is gonna break right below your feet!

your user name / ID is half your security ... if a EA/Bioware Rep told you to post that info on a public forum  they are IDOTS...

and i stand by my statement from a security consultant standpoint!

Lolwut?  So no one should ever know our ID for anything, anywhere, ever?.  Since that's "half our security".  I guess half your security is compromised because I can see your forum name is "hchadw".  Giving out your Origin ID is the same thing as giving out your Gamertag or PSN ID.  It's a public handle used to identify you within the community, not a private login ID.  Anyone you play with on Origin sees your Origin ID.  It's not like Steam's login system where you have a private and a public.

Lovely. I just lost the victory pack because of this because I hadn't read this before I tried to redeem it. :(

Just wanted to add my voice to this problem as well. Has happened to me at least 7 times in the past few weeks. Buying the spectre packs should be fun but instead its filled with trepidation and anxiety. Ultimately the rewards are why we put in the time and effort into playing the multiplayer and to have that robbed from you is very frustrating.

I don't know why you all are still posting your credits lost and Origin ID. EA already said they weren't going to refund credits/bioware points and Bioware just "logs" your complaint.

The former is because the IDs help Bioware identify who is being affected (clearly not everybody is, I have two friends who haven't run into this at all) and help them isolate what the problem is to prevent it from happening again.

The latter is simply something I tossed in, partially because it's nice to hope, but mostly because it helps reflect how serious the issue is (and not a once-in-a-while glitch).

Edit: and regarding your previous post, let's be fair: EA support is about as helpful as asking a lost man for directions. What that EA support person told you basically amounted to "I don't know, but because I don't know I can't refund you anything". That is subject to change once they do know.

*sigh* Check your weapons and/or characters, you will most likely noticed you unlocked something or leveled something up. I've lost credits and did this, then I saw a new item. I will repeat, you don't lose anything, it just doesn't show the pack opening on your screen!

@Greenhelm
Anyone who played the Demo knows to check their gear even if the purchase fails. Give us some credit. It's been said over and over that we *have* checked our gear and had nothing new after loosing credits/Bioware points.

One of the easiest ways to tell if you *did* recieve the pack despite the game telling you the transaction didn't go through is to keep an eye how many Medigel, Missiles, Survival Packs and Thermal Clip packs you have. You will *ALWAYS* get at least one of these items when you purchase a pack, and it's a lot easier to keep track of how many of those 4 things you have, versus weapons, mods, character classes, appearance options, etc.

I've been buying packs, and not getting those basic supplies. That means that I've not been getting *anything* when I've been trying to buy the various packs. On top of that we've already had a Bioware Dev in here acknowledging that there is an issue and they're looking into it. Why are you so adamant that all of us don't know what we're talking about ?

That's definitely all that's happening some of the time, thankfully. But I definitely have just straight-up lost credits too, like Wampafodder says.

I know EA help is useless but I blame Bioware for sending me there to get help in the first place.

...and again.

After playing some gold matches tonight I logged out of the game and Origin, re-logged and attempted to buy Spectre packs. I was successful 3 of 4 times, so that brings my total credit loss to 300k.

Happens to me half the time. I've lost more than 8 specter packs due to this nonsense.

So my solution: Don't buy anything until this is fixed, stacking credits as we speak...

This has caused me about 500,000 credits worth of failed pack purchases. I'm not angry, I'm disappointed at how such a phenominally game breaking, game ruining bug could make it in to the final product. Contacting EA Support for a redemption in my lost credits gets me no where and all I'm left with is "we are investigating the issue".

Seriously, Bioware, if you want to turn people off your game - this is a sure fire way of doing it. It completely removes the incentive to play. I don't have the written eloquence to adequately describe how insanely disappointed I am with this issue.

EDIT: Credits lost - several hundred thousand (I honestly can't be sure)

I tested out different methods suggested in this thread and others and none seemed to work. Mainly seems to occur for some reason when I purchase Specter packs. Figured what the hell and it bit me in the ass.

Almost forgot... and NO, nothing shows up in your inventory after the failed purchases. Although I have had this once and could confirm seeing 3 new items from a specter pack. I could have missed the other 2. But the 3 other times I have purchases one nothing shows up in the inventory different from what I already had

I have gotten this bug as well, seems to happen after I have been playing for a bit. I just save up credits now, exit multiplayer, exit the game, and re-enter before I start buying as a possible work-around. Doing that it doesn't effect me. Alternatively, buying a recruit pack first will tell you if the bug is "in effect" if you will. That way you are only out 5k credits instead of 60k :P
