^ Yea that seems odd. Time to shoot some boobs.

The glowing nipples were a dead giveaway that this was the weak spot.

Hitting the Prime's head from the side seems to deal the same damage as hitting the head in the face (red eye). It also delivers the exploding head animation on kill, so I figure it is the same hitzone. I can never seem to hit it from the back though, even if I hit the peak of the neck.

Also, versus brutes, shoot their unarmored butt.

It's redicilous how fast they drop then xD

Does this also stay true in single player? Banshees are a pain in the ass even more in single player.

Additionally, I've heard that you can snipe the armor off a Brute which exposes internal organs as a weak spot. I haven't been able to try it since fights with those things get real crazy real fast, especially when they swarm Husks at you at the same time.

There's definitely a damage difference in my experience.  A shot to the side or back of the head on my Inf with widow will hit for 3 bars generally.  A hit directly in the red-eye is always half of his entire armor bar.  It could also have to do with your particular weapon since the Widow has inate armor penetration.

What I want to know is if there are any weak spots on a Ravager. I hear shooting all their sacs causes them to die immediately, but that's often not an option. What other weak points do they have, anyone know?

Shoot at anything but the sacs, basically.

Aim for their metallic hide/carapace where the guns are mounted.

Also, the flesh that is exposed when you shoot the sacs is also just as vulnerable.

Shooting the sac only causes the Swarmers to drop out before they die. On the front of the head there's a blue light that is a rather large target that does a good amount of damage. Also, I try to aim for the metallic surface along to top of it when they're facing away from me or the shot to the light is blocked. If you or your squadmate have Inferno Grenade, that seems to deal a good amount of damage as well.

5 star rating. Thanks for the information and the civil discussion that's going on in here about faster ways to take down the big ones.

Yeah. I try shooting them in their behind or the blue wires in their head for max possible damage.

As long as you have a fully automatic or any type of aoe to handle the little bugs that come out I've been going with the method of shooting the 3 sacks and then 1 shot to the eye to kill them.  I haven't tried just focussing down the eye though.

Question on the Atlas.

Are you aiming for just the back, or the afterburner portion?

Also has anyone tried to knock out the canopy to expose the driver? I get like four shoots and the window seems to crack, but the atlas is never alive long enough to expose him. Am I misinterpreting the tooltip? Seems dumb to have the weakest area of his body being protected by an equally weak part. Or does the tooltip just mean to shoot the canopy 'cause it does the most damage?

Canopy takes most damage and in the SP it can crack and you can kill the driver, although sometimes you also destroy the atlas(happens most often with a heavy sniper rifle like the widow or javalin).

In MP you can't hijack an Atlas, they always blow up.

Ah... hmm - I'm not sure why your empirical testing would have come up with some of that - but here's how it's "supposed" to be.

Banshee
- No weak points (aim for the belly, as it's fattest - most likely to hit it)

Brute
- Takes reduced damage in the right arm
- Takes greatly reduced damage in the claw
- Armour Plates absorb damage until breaking (best to aim for exposed flesh, probably base of the neck?)
- No other weak points

Geth Prime
- Currently has a head volume (but it's a bug)

Atlas
- Some types of weapons will do increased damage to the cockpit (this is a bug)
- Destroy any of the following to do a small damage spike (shoulder flanges, groin plate, knee plates)

So I should be aiming Center Mass and slightly above for Banshee's? Good to know.

So... the way I see it it's all bugs and no weak points? How does that reward aiming at all... And the Banshee having no weak points is kinda meh. =/

Now when I shout "SHOOT THEM IN THE GROIN!" during a match, my team won't look at me funny.

I don't know, the chest seems to take more damage on the banshee. I have been checking and rechecking. 3-4 blocks consistently (yes I am pulling them away while the team deals with everything else). Everywhere else seems to average out at 2 (except legs 1-2).

And how can the cockpit be a bug- surely that is where the pilot sits? And why is headingshooting a Prime a bug?

A double post but a different more serious note.
Now knowing they are bugs are we going to get in trouble for "exploiting" when we shoot these obvious damage spike spots.

There should be some more weak points to encourage strategy/aiming.

No, it's not an exploit... just an issue which makes them a bit easier than they should normally be. You won't get in trouble for abusing it (I know I do when I play ).

The cockpit on the Atlas is a good thing to shoot at in SP - but since the pilot mechanic doesn't really exist in MP it's kind of a wash. Now, if/when this is fixed... we might introduce the weak point *deliberately*... the main issue is right now we have no ability to control the amount of damage done, which makes tweaking it a bit difficult.

Taking out all of the sacs seems to drop them to one bar of health, actually. I've seen Ravagers disgorge their entire cargo and go down to one bar before.
