Question on the Atlas.

Are you aiming for just the back, or the afterburner portion?

Also
has anyone tried to knock out the canopy to expose the driver? I get
like four shoots and the window seems to crack, but the atlas is never
alive long enough to expose him. Am I misinterpreting the tooltip? Seems
dumb to have the weakest area of his body being protected by an equally
weak part. Or does the tooltip just mean to shoot the canopy 'cause it
does the most damage?

Atlases don't have pilots in multi. You cannot hijack them.

The swarmers don't bother me.

I've found success in shooting them in the blue spot on the head, from behind, and in the soft spots exposed by burst sacs. So ... All sorts of places, really.

Pro tip: Ravagers are ticklish. Gently rub the bottom of their feet and they'll laugh so hard they explode.

Brute
- Takes reduced damage in the right arm
- Takes greatly reduced damage in the claw
- Armour Plates absorb damage until breaking (best to aim for exposed flesh, probably base of the neck?)
- No other weak points

I've found that for brutes their behind is the most exposed and easiest to hit area. I always just keep going for butt shots on them till they die.

This Banshee thing is messed up. Will ME3 MP elevate "Boob Shot" to a legitimate term?

Same. Poor brutes. Good to see some facts from Devs on here, much appreciated, and the OP for getting it rolling. To think I've been wasting time trying to headshot Banshees and my schoolgirl giggling at shooting the Atlas in the nethers paid off.

If they didn't wanna get shot in the butt, they shouldn't charge past me while I dodge them like a bull =P

I am interested to see how much damage I do to an Atlas when they manage to fix the bug. I got out of a gold Cerberus match not long ago and I would pretty much 2 shot their armor bar with a Widow III shooting the cockpit.

Good to know about the Banshee's tender spot. Not so obvious. :P

Ah... hmm - I'm not sure why your empirical testing would have come up with some of that - but here's how it's "supposed" to be.

Banshee
- No weak points (aim for the belly, as it's fattest - most likely to hit it)

Brute
- Takes reduced damage in the right arm
- Takes greatly reduced damage in the claw
- Armour Plates absorb damage until breaking (best to aim for exposed flesh, probably base of the neck?)
- No other weak points

Geth Prime
- Currently has a head volume (but it's a bug)

Atlas
- Some types of weapons will do increased damage to the cockpit (this is a bug)
- Destroy any of the following to do a small damage spike (shoulder flanges, groin plate, knee plates)

I can say with certainty that banshees take the most damage on the ******, brutes take the most in the ass and atlas takes increased damage to the cockpit. This was tested with a mantis.

"Atlases take increased damage from crotch shots"

Good to know.

So the cloak and shoot the butt of Brutes is a designed tactic by the devs.
As is groin shots.
What's on the application form for employees, GSOH and must be willing to be involved in posterior and genital spankings?
Funnily though I got some good damage off the banshees rear too.
Plus scoped in it does have the right mass effect to it.

What do shots in the butt do?

Hit fleshy easier to hit parts.
No data but apart from when brutes rear up king kong style.
Or a lucky hit to the neck.
It's the best spot.

It can eat on silver a third - half with a mark X Mantis and barrel mod + AP rounds.

Banshees it seems to do good damage, not sure exactly however.

I rather just hit max overload on the shields/barriers then shoot.

They aren't supposed to have weak points? D:

I guess this means I won't get to aim at the glowing ******.

Does that affect abilitys as well? Cause it could explain why Nova sometimes seems to do no damage (0-1 segments) and other times 3-4 segments. With max barriers of course.

Could you perhaps demonstrate this?  It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that they seem to get grumpy every time I try to get close to their feet. :innocent:
