I'm personally of the opinion that the current endings should not be invalidated. Instead, what is already there can be expanded upon by offering more options which would be better supported by additions to the game. Shepard has to realize that the destruction of the Mass Relays is the destruction of the Galactic Community. Whatever the starchild is, Shepard should not just roll over and be forced to choose among three losing propositions. A solution (or solutions) should exist where he finds his OWN way to win, even still at the cost of his own life.
What if the Crucible could be used to damage the Reapers in the immediate area, the bulk of their forces, and leave the remainder weak to conventional attack? Using the Crucible in a way the Starchild did not intend doesn't magically win the war, but it gives the asembled forces JUST enough of an edge to beat them on their own terms. Shepard then places his trust in the remainder of his War Assets to fight and win against the Reaper threat throughout the galaxy. One Reaper at a time, system by system (perhaps played out through cinemas showing each of your major War Assets put to use) . An ending like this would allow all of the choices you made prior to that moment count for something, as it is by the fruits of your own work to bring everyone together that the war is truly won or lost, for better or for worse.
The TLDR of it is if we offer solutions that preserve the current cannon we are FAR more likely to see additional content which addresses our concerns. If any of you can think of a better way ending WITHOUT invalidating the current ones, please post it here. I would love to read them. Perhaps Bioware would too.
Bioware Should Preserve Current Endings, Yet Offer More in Future
