The app itself allows you to login into your Origin account so that your gameplay is reflected in ME3. The app is broken down into five areas for easy usage and reference.

The areas found within the game are:
Alliance News - Twitter feed for @masseffect
Mail - Game related messages
Media - Trailers and screenshots
Galaxy at War - Deployment of fleets to gain war assets in the five areas of the galaxy.
Codex - Game related information seperated in to primary and secondary sections.

Benefits:
1. Allows for gaining of war assets for gameplay outside of single or multplayer on Xbox, PC or PS3.
2. Contains very helpful information on the Mass Effect universe
3. Messages received are informative and fun.
4. Opening background is a image of the Citadel, Thessia or Ilium with a clock.
5. Easy to use and user friendly.
6. Fleets in Galaxy at War are upgradeable in respects to speed, number of fleets, shielding and bonus readiness rating.
7. After a few hours of deploying fleets for missions, some areas of the map saw an increase in readiness by 5%. It does require periodic attention in order to deploy fleets but overall, very enjoyable.
8. Upgrades are very helpful and reasonably priced.
9. Great price, FREE!

Feedback:
1. Push notifications needed for Galaxy at War. Currently there is a timer that tells you when you can deploy your next fleet but unless you are mindful of the time then you can lose track and fail to deploy for a few mintues to an hour thus wasting time when you could be gaining war assets.
2.Twitter feed tends to read the same message over and over, "Thank you for the feedback." Especially in the middle of the day. Morning and evenings are more interesting as the person manning the account will have discussions with players on Twitter, but this does not happen very often.
3. Needs an option to reset the messages or archive to keep those messages you found interesting or touching.
4. The Galaxy at War tends to show the message, "Application needs to be connected to the internet." despite being connected via Wifi and/or Cellular connection.
5. Origin requires you to log in daily which is not problematic as its a simple button but having that occur when the app opens would be helpful versus waiting until you go into one of the sections.
6. At times when you are reloading the Galaxy at War maps, the app tends to go white screen before going into section. Very annoying, at potentially blinding.

Over all:
Simple, fun app worth the use to gain war assets and to keep Mass Effect related information at hand. You never know when you may need to give a citation.

If you have any questions please ask.

I find you need to hard close and re-launch to avoid the internet connection needed messages. It simply does not function well after being soft closed to multitasking on iphone 4.

On the 'net connection issues: If you hop back to main app menu, hop into mail, and click the check mail button...I find that it "refreshes" the net connection without a hard app exit and relaunch.

On the Galaxy at war piece: I've raised readiness close to 10% in a day and a half. MOST efficient (if you can swing it, in terms of attnetion) are the 3 hour-ish missions. Longer ones are not as efficient (in terms of readiness or credits), and that becomes MORE apparent once you buy the speed and bonus readiness upgrades.

One 3 hour mission gets me 1.3% readiness per district and 600 creds. One 5 and half hour mission gets me 1.5% readiness and 1150-ish credits.

That's with one shy of max readiness bonus.

On the loss of internet connection, if I just tap the reload button, it goes away. It goes to a white screen first but comesback. I have not had to relaunch the app due to connection failure.

I tend to do the longer missions before sleeping thus when I wake up then I deploy the next sections. As I have upgraded the app specs to mid way, 5% increase has been good. As I upgrade more, I can see the potential for a 10% increase in a matter of hours.

I really want to use this app. It sounds like a lot of fun, but I'm having a lot of trouble getting it to work. I downloaded it, and try to sign in with the email and password that I use for BSN. I checked it to make sure that it was correct (it is, this site reflects my ME3 game) but every time I try to put the info in, it gives me an error message telling me that the server cannot be reached and to check my internet connection.
I'm using it on my iPad. I've turned it completely off and on, deleted and re-downloaded it and I don't know what else to do. Can you help me out?

If it's the Origin servers that aren't being connected to, I had this same issue until I logged into my EA account (using the same credentials) as profile.ea.com, and followed a prompt to set up a username, as I'd never logged on to the EA site before. After doing so, I didn't have any further issues with the app and could log in normally. I hope this helps. :)

PS make sure your BSN account is the same as the one used to connect to EA servers, if you're on xbox. Mine was different and so I had to hunt through my xbox live details to find the correct account.

Just wait until you have everything at the first level upgraded. An option opens up to upgrade "Galactic Command Coordination" and the first one costs 500,000 credits. Assuming you can do the 5 hour mission 3x a day, it'll take around 30 days of non stop monitoring of the app to get it. I don't even want to know how much the second and third upgrades are.

Yeah, I've just got that.

Considering how ridiculous the cost of that upgrade is and how long it'd take to unlock just the first level of it, I'm kinda curious how much readiness it actually adds:blink:

App itself is okay. Handy for getting readiness up since I won't touch MP on principle.

If readiness is all you want, then the 1 hour missions are the way to go. Get crap all credits, but I've unlocked all basic upgrades anyway. Readiness levels only differ by about .4 of a % between mission types, so spamming the 1 hour ones will get the readiness up far more efficiently than anything else

+1.

To be honest I think I would have downloaded it simply to have the codex on my iPhone - I tend to load up my phone with all manner of gubbinz to do/read when I get bored, and the codex is a nice little doohickey to have.

The minigame reminds me somewhat of the Pirates of the Carribean game - very grindy but a fun little addition. The fact it offers a way of upping GR without any need for multiplayer is a *big* plus.

Overall, its a great little app.

Apparently it "earns significant additional readiness rating per mission."

Wouldn't mind a feature for the Mail section - seperate 'inboxes' for different Shepards. It's going to be really weird skimming messages for my Sheploo playthrough and reading some older ones from James Vega referring to Shep as 'Lola'... ;)

If anyone honestly ever gets enough credits to afford it, I'm sure they'll let you know. I don't think the app has physically been around long enough for anyone to actually get that many credits :P

I mentioned this elsewhere, but I would like to see the the Official In-character news displayed in its own section on the app. It would be great to see a big focus on that area. Perhaps users of the app could even add replies to the messages as well, much like the Cerberus News Network.

Some more functions for multiplayer i would like to see:

- access to my characters to change loadout, promote etc.

- buying packs with the money earned in the datapad app. With maxed standard upgrades i get 5x 1250= 6250 cr every 5:37h. If i do this 4 times a day i get 25000 cr/day. I think it wouldn't be unfair to others without the app if we could use the money to buy packs. You can easily make this money buy winning one silver game.

- character builder for single and multiplayer

Biggest comment: Please remove Twitter replies from the Alliance news updates--it breaks the immersion of the App. It's not a quick link to get updates from the Dev team. Instead, it's just a steady stream of context-free announcements like "@UnhappyMan Thanks for your comments. I will pass them on!"

My only problem with it is my Ipod Touch is too old to use it and it isn't available for my Android phone.

I finished all the normal upgrades a few days ago and have been grinding out credits for the Galactic Command Corrdination.  On a whim I just checked the upgrades page and saw the price drop.  Instead of level 1 costing 500k it was 10k, level 2 was 25k and level 3 was 40k.  Needless to say I bought all three, Im waiting for my current missions to end to see how big of a boost it provides.  Anyone else see the price drop?

Thanks for the heads up. I bought all 3 upgrades and i am getting now 3,17% readiness for each mission. Now we just need to be able to buy packs with the leftover credits :)

The prices for those upgrades might have ended up being a bit cheap, but oh well. Much easier to get back to 100% readiness now, considering how quickly it gets eaten by the game. I lost about 3% in about 18 hours, so maybe they increased the rate of decay.

Yeah, I noticed that this morning - I'd acquired about 180k by the time the price drop got noticed, so I bought all three levels.

For me, on the 5+ hour missions, my readiness reward has jumped from 1.67% to 3.17% (IIRC). Really useful, though I've no idea whether they've adjusted the decay.
