Sighs...

thats what i did at the ending of me 3 and reading this op post.
slaps myself for even bumping this thread.

obviously i disagree and something has to be done , the current ending
are a disgrace imo to the previous games and most importantly to the fans.

You know what? I am sick and tired of people saying that wanting a happy ending is a bad thing. This is ludicrous. Why should I be satisfied with being slapped in the face huh? What is so wrong with wanting a little happiness in life? Life is full of despair as it is, if I want to escape into an alternate reality that I have the power to shape then so be it. If I want that to end on a positive note then so be it. I have said multiple times that I am not lobbying to change anything, I just want an alternate choice.

Indeed, Bioware, do not change the endings.

Just give us more endings, especially for those of us that want the opportunity to get something better, which apparently are a number between 82 and 98% of the people who have played the game.

God, I'm getting sick of these threads. Stop calling it art. Logically explain all the giant holes in the ending. And maybe Bioware should have some integrity instead of blatantly lying to their fans over the past year with all the quotes about how there would be resolution and many different endings.

When Dickens gave into readers and changed the ending to Great Expectations, it was one of the great failings in the art of literature. That the masses, rather than the artist, would dictate  the conclusion of a brilliant work of literature was about as anti-art as you can get.

Bioware is faced with a similar dilemma now. Some very vocal fans are demanding a DLC that adds another alternative happy ending.

Bioware, please realize that this is a crossroads for video games as an art form. If you give into fans, you will be showing that the ending of videogames is decided by the masses rather than by the artist - you will be tarnishing a great work of art; you'll be forever disgracing the idea that video games can be seen as an art form.

While I was not entirely pleased with the 10 second cutscene at the end of the game, I correctly realize that the entirety of Mass Effect 3 is the "ending". The ending starts as soon as you start a new game. The previous two acts were seen in Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. People are putting too much stock in a 10 second cutscene and ignoring the rest of the ending. I also realize that it is Bioware's story to end - not mine, and that of not the very vocal trolls and haters on this forum.

The masses? Did you type this on your laptop on a luxury yacht in the cool Mediterranean breeze?

If they wanted to make Mass Effect 3's ending as you describe, the ending would have been FINAL. No questions. Shepard's dead the Reapers didn't mess with his head and no scene where you see an obvious Shepard "corpse" gasp for air. The "Bioware approved" guide says Shepard survives. Their community manager keeps hinting at the possibility of the ending not being "final."

You are putting too much stock in the idea that an INTERACTIVE medium is immune to player input.

This isn't the 19th century.

Take your masses argument back to your yacht elitist.

If they had integrity they would have told EA to back off, and give them the time and money they needed. Thus we wouldn't have been in this mess to begin with.

Lol@Considering Mass Effect 3, or the other 90% of video games are ART.

Art makes me sad and depressed and doubt my existance, Video Games, like movies, are to entertain, not provide a high road to intellectual stimulation.

Unless this game is Shadow of the Colossus, Icos, Catherine, Okami, or such, Mass Effect 3 is a multiplayer gun-shooting murdering Video Game.

Not a work of Picasso.

I have a better one: Please give us the endings you promise. Have integrity.
