Mostly food for thought, but not being a person with experience in the ways of making new models I thought I'd throw out the idea of doing some different headgear and clothing options for mages. Or I guess for prancing about in just clothes rather than in armor all the time for non-mage types when yer out browsing Denerim's stores and such. Just for fun really, adding stats and all would be the bonus part.

On that note, I believe circlets and tiaras are pretty well explained being what they are, a shiny, jewelled metal circle rested on top of yer melon that sparkles and looks neat. Would that be viable to make something like that? So far the only crown I've seen was the one Caridin makes for yer chosen king, pretty sweet but it looks awefully heavy for a non-dwarf. I'd be after something much lighter/thinner but just as shiny, hehe.

Dresses/robes I find to be a little too modest for my fantasy game taste, while they are realistic only the Enchanter's Robe(female version) and Morrigan's Outfit are in the not-so-modest catagory but one has stitched leather stockings with funky brown kneepads, and the other is a bit on the trashy/punk side.

I imagine you've played the game and have heard Leliana talk about "Orleisian fashion" or when she talks to Morrigan about putting her in a low-cut red velvet dress and shopping for shoes and all that, I'd like to be able doll her up like that too. Image IPB

In general I would want such items to dress up my party for a more noble-style appearance, the pre-made stuff is decent but I'm thinking of flashier-more risky stuff...even the guys could use help in that department. Pretty much your whole party is rather utilitarianly (is that a word? lol) dressed for battle all the time as it is.

There's that merchant in Denerim from Orlais(not really a merchant, just someone who talks about selling womanly wares) that might fit the bill for realistically aquiring these fancy goodies, seeing as Ferelden isn't quite so fashionable.

Anywho I think I've rambled quite enough for now, hope my idea piques an interest out there for a 3d modelling nut needing some inspiration! Image IPB

I need that too. I'm trying to reskin at least one or two outfits but it would be great if someone more qualified tried to do some more cloth models.

Just wondering if anyone knows yet of any circlets out there, or basically any newly modelled headgear .

There's no headgear yet that I'm aware of. While the modelling aspect is trivial, the problem is that all helmets and hair meshes need to be fully rigged to work properly (why Bioware went that route is beyond me), and that's kind of a PITA to export at present. As you will have seen with the existing hair and body mesh mods, it is possible to do it via Blender using NewByPower's script, although that's a bit of a kludge in the way it works. ChewyGumball's Max/GMax script can also export animated meshes, although it isn't working 100% yet. And then there's tazpn's tool which can convert animated meshes in the FBX format, but frankly that's a pig of a format that no app seems to handle properly (even Autodesk's and it's their format). So what all that boils down to is be patient - headgear and clothing/armour will come once the model tools mature a bit more.
