You awaken in a rather maladroit manner to find yourself trapped inside a seemingly vacant stable. You are dubious to how you managed to arrive, and what lies beyond your surroundings. The stables seem to be in a large interconnected array, with a purpose that would be anyone‘s guess. Looking at the loosely piled hay you were resting on before, you see splotches of blood and notice the scent of a rather unseemly nature. What happened here?

You begin to hear a strange and somewhat unnerving flapping sound; you quickly notice a pair of glowing eyes in the distance. The stables are poorly lit; you aren’t close enough to make out the creature’s full form quite yet. In your hurriedly attempt to move off of the bale of hay to investigate, you come to an unforeseen revelation:

You are a pony.

Up to this point, you’d been so focused on trying to grasp the nature of your surroundings, you’d neglected that you had hooves for hands. You examine yourself further… You’ve an unnatural display of ‘cutie marks’ covering your body; Bizarre, intricate tattoos are inexorably bound onto your skin - a well-crafted, carefully-woven tapestry of torment. In your brief time of self-analysis, you’d neglected something: The glowing eyes are getting closer. As the figure comes to a terrifyingly close expanse, you come to notice its true form is far less horrifying. The figure is… a dragon. More specifically, a relatively young dragonling who has managed to wander in your one & only home. A mere three feet, both of you are nigh the same height. Speaking in a higher-pitched, slightly off-putting intonation, the dragon greets you.

Pike - “Hey, why the long fa-…oh, right. Nevermind. Wow, I’ve seen some mares beaten with the ugly stick before, but you’re really taking the cake on this one.”

1. “Greetings.”
2. “Who…are you?”
3. “Even Origin isn’t as annoying as you. Farewell.”

The Maneless One - “Who…are you?”

Pike - “You can call me pike. I was trying to head home, but something all sorts of awful started chasing me, a strange shadow in the night. I flew faster than Pain-Goes-Smash trying to keep out of its clutches. I found myself in this creepy old place, and that’s when I found you.”

1. “Greetings.”
2. “Who…are you?”
3. “What is this place?”
4. “Even Origin isn’t as annoying as you. Farewell.”

After comparing your first potential companion to spyware, you attempt to gain your bearings. You try galloping for a brief stretch of time, only to fall over hoof-first on the unforgiving stone floor. The cause of the fall was not due to lack of grace, but a shining, razor-sharp object lying among the hay and dust in your path.

1. Examine the object.
2. Ignore it and continue on.

Examine the object

Experience Gained - 100

You glance with greater focus towards the object. It is a nondescript shard of glass, apparently broken off from one of the nearby window panes. Looking outside at this time of night wouldn’t provide much insight, however. What’s truly horrifying isn’t the object itself, but what’s being reflected off of the shard. Looking into the mirror, you are lacking what nearly anypony would have: A mane. An even more disfigured exterior than previously imagined, you’ll likely cause many-a quagmire to whomever lie outside. Your skin appears to be a shade of pale white, with patches of grey around the sides of your torso. Take comfort in the fact that at least your flying companion has no quarrel with your current body state.

Staring into the shard causes your body to tremble, and your mind becomes overwhelmed with a phantasmagoric flurry of images that feel all too familiar. You see a bipedal being staring at a strange rectangular device, showering a kaleidoscopic range of hues. Whoever this person is seems to be mesmerized, but what these colors and shapes were meant to represent are too difficult to tell. The vision abruptly ends, and pike finds you lying on the floor.

Pike - “Hey! Can’t a dragon meet a friend without them passing out on the floor 5 minutes later? It’s my college days all over again.”

The Maneless One - “I’ll be alright…”

Pike - “I certainly hope so, boss.”

With the threshold crossed, you come upon an intersection within the stables. The exits are north, west, and east. Which do you choose first?

1. “The path to the north shall be taken.”
2. “West shall be our destination.”
3. “I have a feeling east will lead us out.”

You traverse straight ahead to the northern part of the stables. At first, it seems to be completely barren. However, there are a few points of interest upon further examination of the room. In the corner of this hallway, one can see a decaying desk with a large tome, and a small sheet of paper lying on top of it. In the other corner lies a strange object resembling a pyramid.

1. Inspect the sheet.
2. Inspect the Tome.
3. Inspect the Pyramid.
4. Inspect Pike.
5. Leave the Stable.

You inspect the strange object in the corner of the room. It looks to be a tetrahedron made out of a shining white, indissoluble material. You know, like adamantium or something. The tips of the tetrahedron appear to be twistable and changeable at a whim. Curious, you grasp the cold, pyramidal object and attempt to adjust it.

Alas, this pyramid is still a mystery to you. After fiddling around with the object for a few minutes, it becomes clear that there’s little you’ll be able to do with it for the time being. You take the object for safe keeping.

1. Inspect the sheet.
2. Inspect the Tome.
3. Inspect the Pyramid.
4. Inspect Pike.
5. Leave the Stable.

You still don't know anything to unlock the pyramid, so it's still there...being pyramidy. Try something besides 3, is my reccomendation. I built the text adventure to have multiple solutions based on the order of your actions, so... ignore the pyramid for the moment. :P

You inspect the tome. Most of the pages are either blank, or of no discernible interest. While flipping through the pages, you come upon a diagram detailing the inner workings of what appears to be a tetrahedron. Analyzing further, you are grow a surprising comprehension of how to ‘open’ it, and manipulate its inner workings. You decide to take the journal for safe keeping, handing it over to Pike for the time being. There’s a felt pen lying where the tome used to be - you obtain it as well. For the sake of christening the occasion, you update your journal.

It is serendipitous that you’d looked inside the tome. Spinning the pyramid in countless iterations, you astound even Pike at your innate talent for the performance of your geometric gyrations. The Pyramid finally opens. Shockingly, the ‘tips’ of the tetrahedron unceremoniously fall off, and the 3 sides left on the object collapse simultaneously to reveal what lies on the small wedge left. It’s a small crystal, no larger than a fingernail. You take it for sake keeping.

1. Inspect the sheet.
2. Inspect the Tome.
3. Inspect the Pyramid.
4. Inspect Pike.
5. Leave the Stable.

Looking closer at the sheet, it appears to be some sort of announcement poster. “Keep your promise! The Lady of Pink keeps the world in harmony, so do your part for Equis!”

The Maneless One - “Who is this Lady of Pink?”

Pike - “Someone you don’t want to be on the business end of, that’s for sure. No one’s been able to find out much about the lady of pink, but we do know she keeps everyone here in check; All of those in the ponyscape make a sworn promise to keep Equis from entering a shape of discord - Burglary, Murder, you name it. Anyone caught attempting to break that promise is in for a world of pain…and trust me buddy, you don’t want to see that happening anytime soon."

1. Inspect the sheet.
2. Inspect the Tome.
3. Inspect the Pyramid.
4. Inspect Pike.
5. Leave the Stable.

Backtracking your steps, you arrive yet again upon the intersection within the stables. There are exits north, west, and east. Which do you choose first?

1. “The path to the north shall be taken.”
2. “West shall be our destination, it‘s time to leave this place.”
3. “East sounds promising.”

You head east. Something grotesque can be seen as you come closer to the end of the hallway. It appears to be the bodies of 6 ponies attached to each other - Three of them serving as a ‘leg’, Two of them serving as the ‘arms’, and one pony as the ‘head’. To make matters worse, sharp razors have been grafted to the ‘arms‘, serving as vicious weapons of combat. This is detestable… It seems to be slicing and cutting in primitive swoops, leaving a ‘clunk’ sound with each passing slash.

Pike - “What is this? I don’t even-”

Before Pike is able to continue, the beast turns around from its work and approaches you. As Mish-Mash speaks, you can hear the voices of all 6 ponies in unison, speaking out of the ‘head’ simultaneously. It is an unsettling addition to an unspeakable horror.

Mish-Mash - “WHAT YOU WANT?”

1. “Aren’t you feeling sleepy? Perhaps…you should take…a rest.”(Unicorn)
2. Attempt to Knock Out Mish-Mash(Pegasus)
3. Lie: “I am Adahn.”
4. “I should go.”
