The Maneless One - “We’re not going to figure it out just sitting here, Let’s go.”

Daa’Hoof - “We’ll not be any safer if we stay in one place.”

The party makes their way around the outer circle of the hub in an attempt to discover more on the cause of the invasion. They eventually arrive back to the tacit mare bar, and it is a disturbing sight.

Pike - “Wait, isn’t that…”

The tacit mare, the pony in which The Maneless One had neglected to speak to, is causing nothing short of pandemonium outside of the once-lively tavern. Beforehand, few had actually seen the eyes of Flutter-Die until today. Surrounded by the same ponies that wore the teal garments, most of them had been slumped on the ground, showing grave signs of nausea and pain. Her eyes are a pure, unbridled black - as clear and unadorned as a well-polished ruby. There’s no doubt that her abilities stem from some sort of curse bestowed on her. A shrill scream comes out of her mouth as she spreads her perturbing plague upon the guardians of the hooves.

Pike - “We can’t just stand here, or it’s about to get very messy, very fast!”

1. Kill Flutter-Die.
2. Try to persuade Flutter-Die into stopping.
3. Try to save whoever may be alive and run.
4. Lift Up Flutter-Die. (Pegasus)

Through vigilant, cautious motions, you take steps towards the unhinged Flutter-Die in an attempt to create a conversable environment before she continues the massacre.

The Maneless One - “Listen… the harm you’re causing will be dire for both sides if this goes on.”

She turns her head slightly towards you. You can see her guise transition from rampant fear to trifling confusion. For a fleeting moment, you have her unfettered attention.

The Maneless One - “Can you speak?”

Flutter-Die - “…”

Flutter Die lets out a small yelp, a diminutive variation of the cry let out as she decimated the guardian forces.

Pike - “I guess we’re getting our info elsewhere, boss.”

You’re unsure what her intentions were, but she may very well be able to turn the tide stopping the invasion.

1. Attempt to recruit Flutter-Die.
2. Leave her to her own Accord.

Unhurriedly, you hold out your hoof as a gesture of friendship.

Pike - “You have GOT to be kidding me.”

The Maneless One - “Thanks for sharing your opinion, but I believe she never meant harm - not intentionally.”

Daa’Hoof - “It was not resentment I saw in her eyes, but trepidation and dread. This was not a fight she began…”

Taking her hoof, the four companions patrol attentively for any signs of survivors. A single guardian lay nearby, coughing up spots of crimson as some of it slowly tumbles from her now-bloodied maw. She looks at you with glazed, hazy eyes. As she gazes at you, a distinct expression of surprise and astonishment wells over her face.

Guardian - “….a…live…?”

The guardian continues to cough up blood; You can palpably hear the swelling in her heart rate; And in one single motion, it stops.

Daa’Hoof - “…there is nothing left for us here.”

Reluctantly, the four withdraw in the hopes that the marketplace may be the one point in the hub that could indicate the cause. Many a-mare can be found here, but most either are in combat, or victims of the same. 20 of each faction clash against each other, with both mare-made weapons and hoof. One among them all, however, is different.

Similar to the normal robes of the guardians, this one shines with a distinct auburn hue. Instead of in the heat of battle, this stallion seems to be watching intently as his brothers and sisters fight zealously to the death. As you approach the stallion, his head hastily twists in your direction, and gains a strange gleam in his eye.

Daa’Hoof - “I don’t recognize this stallion, though it’s been many years since I’d been part of the temple.”

As you loom nearer to the robed guardian, he speaks with an amalgamation of poise and dread.

Bose - “Who are you.”

1. Truth: “I have no name… or at least, I am unsure of it now.”
2. Lie: “I am Lord Stergio.”
3. “Who I am is of no importance for the moment; I need to save the hub somehow.”
4. “Why are you watching these mares fight and die?”

Bose - “I see. My first impression would say you are a spy who sides for the hub, in the vain hopes of lopping off the head of the army that seemingly defies you. However, there is an unusually familiar sentiment about your modus operandi. I will consider your words… for now.”

1. “Why are you fighting those dwelling in the hub?”
2. “Either you can stop fighting my brethren, or I can stop you instead.”
3. “Isn’t there some way to stop this bloodshed?”
4. “Nevermind. Farewell.”

The Maneless One - “Isn’t there some way to stop this bloodshed?”

Bose - “No.”

The Maneless One wait’s a few moments and stands in place.

Bose - “…And so you are indeed not on either side; A free agent. Few who’ve lived here would have patience to stand here among the death and bedlam. Again, the answer is no. The Lady of Pink has chosen to wage war on us. The ideologies of our kind have been considered an *obstacle*, a loose end she intends on tying up. The Lady values harmony at any cost, and the teachings of Hooves has been misinterpreted as a form of disorder. Where she reigns is beyond even us, so we must do the unthinkable. Only through discord, by destroying that which she holds such assiduousness on will we be able to end the clashing of hoof and steel. Unforgiving as it may sound, the hub is a home to those that will be missed the least. The choice to invade this place was not made heedlessly.”

1. “You’re butchering innocents as a means to stop butchering. It will only end in more bloodshed.”
2. “Why not simply destroy the buildings themselves, and alert the public beforehand?”
3. “And if you do succeed here, what then? What would stop her from rebuilding?”
4. “I was summoned by the Lady of Pink earlier. Why wouldn’t she just do that to all of you?”

The Lady of Pink is not a true diety, mind you; the origins of her powers are unknown, but we do know her abilities do not stem as far as rebuilding equis itself. She is the Judge, Jury, and unfettered Executioner of the Ponyscape; Those who choose to corrupt the balance of harmony are punished, but this is habitually done on an individual basis. How she will deal with a union of stallion and mare, we do not know yet. What we do know is there is little choice left for us: We fight, or we die.

1. “Really? That’s the plan?”
2. “Then let us hope that she prefers diplomatic methods to this war.”
3. “What a reckless way of deciding your own fate.”

The Maneless One - “What a reckless way of deciding your own fate.”

Bose - "It is not your place to judge us, mare. Perhaps the day you--"

Flutter-Die lets out a atrocious, ear-piercing cry before they can continue. In the distance, as the suns have nearly set, the three can make out a strange black mass slowly shifting towards the burning city.

Bose - “The shadowmere… we no longer have time to speak. The Lady of Pink has decided she will dispose of both sides, it seems. Her unrelenting servants have arrived in time to see the end of her beloved town. The last push has begun…”

1. Fight and Support Bose with the oncoming battle.
2. Make a tactical retreat from the city, and plot a way to stop the lady of pink.
3. Find out what Bose would ask of you.

The Maneless One - “If you need help against the shadowmere, we’re at your disposal.”

Bose - “No. You may have time to escape, but those still skirmishing within the HUB will likely not survive. Should we endure what comes next, perhaps I will see you on another battlefield. Head east, for 2 days time, and you will find the temple of hooves. Speak to those who still reside there, and have them *know* of this day.”

The Maneless One - “A companion of mine, Daa’Hoof, has been there before, we should be able to find it.”

Bose - “Then go. Leave this Place.”

In a hurried motion, The Maneless One gathers the three and make way for the other side of the hub, the only exit near the housing district. As they do, The Maneless One slowly twists his head to see an outpouring of pandemonium. What once were living creatures had now been turned into shadow of their former selves; apparitions of former ponies begin to swell into the marketplace like a plague of shade in the sunset backdrop. The bone-chilling neighs bring the previous clashing of the guardians and hub dwellers to a screeching halt.

Pike - “Those are the ones, like the one before I’d found you in the stables, chief!”

They make an intrepid sprint towards the housing district, not looking back to the inevitable massacre. Finding the narrow hallway connected to one of the district’s street ways, they finally find the verdant fields of equis; Strange how the outdoors of this place feels far more precarious now.

Daa’Hoof - “Beyond the valleys of the east, we will find a small cove hidden among them that leads to where we should journey to.”

So began the long journey to the serene valleys of verdant green, a veiled sanctuary from the unsavory forces of equis. The cove proves to be an exceedingly contracted space, barely leaving enough room for the four companions to journey through. A few hours pass; they look ahead of them to see floating pieces of landmasses with an extraordinarily large temple at the front.

Daa’Hoof - “There are a few places within the sanctuary we can visit. If you wish to learn more of the art of derp, we can spar in the training center outside. Heading directly through the doors will lead into the inner sanctum, where we’ll likely find those of greater standing to gain help. We may also gain information from a few of the guardians around the lodgings on the opposite side of the temple. Unfortunate… this place used to have the sight of near 50 pegasi flying from one temple to another - I do not see any at the moment…”

At long last, eroeru’s patience had paid off and had made a choice through 11 days of reading. The Maneless One and Daa’Hoof had left Pike and Flutter-Die by themselves to wander through the remainder of the temple while they tested what may be a much-needed ability in the future.

Daa’Hoof - “As I had mentioned before to you, the teachings of derpy hooves rely on perplexity and confusion as a means of combat. If you can catch your opponent off guard through these techniques, you will have a far greater chance of what may await us.”

Daa’Hoof begins to place his footing in seemingly volatile, irregular directions. The Maneless One observes as he knocks himself into the nearby training dummies with uncanny precision. As he does, The Maneless One begins to feel a writhing headache - analogous to that in the stables, but with much greater intensity.

Experience Gained - 1000

The Maneless One seems to be locked in some sort of holding center, a compacted prison that she is chained to. Her body is forced to the side, but someone is performing a brutal operation on her.

1. Continue to focus on the memory.

The Maneless One attempts to shatter the chains which bind her, using the knowledge of derpy hooves within her. Despite her efforts, the chains remain unyielding and firm. A fiery singe begins to press on her side, with every second to pass seem an eternity of throbbing anguish. The Maneless One finds herself lying on the silver-tiled ground of the training center.

Daa’Hoof - “Are you all right? What happened?”

The Maneless One - “…feels like I’ve been strained through somepony’s bowels…”

Daa’Hoof - “Perhaps training wasn’t a sound idea. We should try to catch sight of information from somepony else here.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Inner Sanctum
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Nameless One, Daa’Hoof, Flutter-Die, and Pike all journey into the temple’s Inner Sanctum. The carvings of the walls inside these catacombs are serrated and have a strange ornate shine to them. It is difficult to make out anything beyond a few feet, with only the torches on each side of the narrow tunnel lighting the way. Flutter-Die makes out a small yelp and looks towards what vaguely appears to be a larger mausoleum in the distance. After a brief stride, they arrive in a strangely-built sepulcher; It is a grand-sized circular room with a considerably-sized tomb in the middle. Across each side of the tomb are 4 square panels jutting out the ground. Upon closer inspection, there are small crevices between these panels and the ground they’re standing on.

“Here Lies Derpy Hooves, who fought bravely against those who misconstrue the wisdom she has taught us. Your memory shall be forever emblazoned into Equis’ history.”

You push the panel downwards. It slowly ascends until you hear a perceptible *click* as the top of the panel becomes level with the ground.
