lol

What's the deal with this thread anyway?

1. Mass Effect is BioWare's fiction? Right on that, but the ending belongs the guys that created it and in this case this would be the guys from Ion Storm / Eidos and the maker of "winter on mars" and certainly not the brave copycats from BioWare...

2. This fiction belongs to BioWare alone? Right, just like the money in my wallet belongs to me alone, if EA/BW wants some of that in the future they better make sure that their fiction meets my expectations.

3. BioWare lied numerous times about the contents and the design of this game. Like any other customer, I expect that a bought product meets the advertisement the producers made.

4. Vocal minority? I just DARE BioWare to do a survey via the origin system if people liked or disliked the ending...

I believe Casey has stated on multiple occasions that they haven't even discussed the future of the franchise yet, which means no plans for stories further out, and Mac Walters has already stated there won't be any post-ending DLC very explicitly, so that means no content right after the ending. If you're going to claim they have "plans" for it, at least educate yourself as to what they have said.

God, people really don't get what this guy's saying.

You are a vocal minority, get over it.

While it appears the majority of people dislike the endings or at least didn't enjoy them, they have accepted it for what it is, and are not demanding or even asking for it to be changed. Alternate ending DLC therefore will not be coming, since it's not marketable to the majority of the fanbase.

That said, post game DLC might be possible, and while Final Hours debunked the idea that the indoctrination theory was intended all along, BioWare could always pull that card to justify us playing as Shepard in the post-game.

Whether or not that happens will largely depend on DLC sales and metadata; if they indicate that people have by and large stopped playing Mass Effect and don't pick it back up to play DLC, then BioWare might change their DLC plan and release post game content. Or the suits will force them to do it.

I have a friend who never votes on anything. Ever. Not congress, not for the president and certainly not for a video game. He was thinking about getting ME3 because I always talked about it and he saw me playing MP which interested him. I decided to show him the ending just to see what he though. He never played any ME games and only knew what I had told him, which honestly was not that much since he was really never interested. However after talking about it for years and the MP aspect he was going to buy ME3. But he saw the ending, and remember he had NO idea about any back story yet he says, and I quote "So you have been talking to me for over 4 years about these games trying to get me to play them and this is what you get at the end? No thanks, that was the single worst ending I have even seen and all I play are FPS with zero story. No wonder you have been pissed and talking to me about these stupid games non stop for the past few days. Throw it out and stfu about it" Almost word for word what he said.

Soooo this person that never votes will never buy the game because he saw how bad the ending was.

My point? The OP has none.

Also if we are the vocal minority then where is the poll showing us that people liked the endings more then people didn't like them? Oh its either because A) we are NOT the minority or B) everyone else just doesn't care and will play any garbage thrown at them because that's what the have been trained to do in the sheeple stables.

ME was not garbage, but the ending made the entire series stink like a pile of one.

The word end implies that there is no more to tell.

The endings of Bioware and me3 do end nothing, they throw more questions in the room. Its a cliffhanger, that violates the self made restrictions of the fictional world. You have killed every one that you care of in ME. Great thats some satisfaction, doesn't matter what I do every one die´s.IF you like it keep it who does not like it chooses differently this is not a BOOK!!

What is your problem with giving ppl the satisfaction of a good ending where they get told what happen to there companions to the rest of the galaxy and you not killing every one blow every mass relay? Instead we have to watch like every thing goes to hell and have no choice to stop it.

Its not like they will delete the last minutes and replace theme so the ppl that have no problem or do not understand why the rest is upset get pissed to.And again this is no Book or a VHS where they take a scissor and cut.

Your ME Copy gets a few MB more and maybe even a few more choices ant the the end to ask and to watch.

So the plan was to ****** the costumer's off rip the money from theme with DLC?
"What your not understanding the end of me3? PAY 20$ and you get a answer!"

Really great plan.

The precedent was already set. It was set by plays, movies, and books before games were a thing. Test audiences and editors have changed endings since long before you were born.

Plays used to change portions of scripts between showings in response to audience reaction.

Hey why don't you all start a poll, raise money for charity and go on a crusade to keep the ending then if you ALL, the so so many of you that there apparantly are, are so concerned????

No its just one... yours.... maybe like three more? there aren't many of you.

I mean yes, there were people who liked the ending. But, most of them don't want to destroy it for everyone else. For instance: If I liked the ending but obviously 90% of everyone else didn't I'd want it changed for their sake. I wouldn't want to make them hate the series we've all grown to love. But, the .001% on the forums here enjoy trying to ruin ME for anyone who was emotionally crushed by that BS ending.

I can't stand you people... and I can't understand you either.

I finished Mass Effect 3 Tuesday night(I played 1 &2 for years)and after going thru the "5 Stages of Mass Effect 3" Grief, I am still disturbed by the ending!
Not just for the reasons mentioned in most of the threads, but by the nature of the ending..............
Whoever wrote the bottle shooting scene with Garrus
Whoever wrote the time capsule with Liara
Whoever wrote the Morlan scene
They conveyed the Mass Effect genius!
But the ending doesn't seem to have the same time or effort of love written into it.
Am I the only one who feels that someone who never wrote Mass Effect 1,2 or 3 wrote the ending?????

Because I refuse to emotionally blackmail a company that has the sole rights to its own story.

Mass Effect is a product. It has severely compromised the trust I have in Bioware's future products. If they want to retain my business, they will have to fix their mistake. That's all there is to it.
