I got mine preloaded through STEAM I wouldn't recommend using STEAM for pre order stuff the game didn't unlock until 13 hours after it was released where I live. All my friends got theirs and were already playing. Everytime I tried the game it just said "this game is not released yet, the minute it is released you can start playing." It said that for 13 hours after the game was out and then I had to wait for it to unlock the decrypted files which took another 30 minutes or more.

That being said I'm now playing and I love the game, even if it's a bit challenging.

I got the collector's edition through Amazon, and it came today! I have to say, I am loving the cloth map! Besides that, the bonus disk really got me into the mood of DAO as I just watched it before downloading the disk. It's downloading now and I cannot wait to play!

It reminds me more of Neverwinter Nights than Baldur's Gate.  Every little area seems compartmentalized. Once you clear it out, there is no real need to go back.  I am hoping that will change as I progress further into the story line.  :happy:

I was so excited this morning, finally release day in Australia. I went down to JB where I had a pre-ordered the CE for PC to pick up the game & play all day only to be told that the pre-ordered CE's haven't come in yet, and they have no idea when they will. I can't believe it - I could buy a regular edition off the shelf but my preordered CE is not available yet. This is the first time I've ever pre-ordered a game, but I guess it will be the last time if this experience is anything to go by. So disappointed now, I have been waiting for what seems like forever to get my hands on this game.

Picked it up yesterday after work. Had a 4 hour session last night, a couple more hours this morning before work and snuck and hour in at lunch Yep, I'm already addicted. I put so many hours into BG, BGII and NWN.... I forgot how much I loved this genre.

Just got it last night at about 9:30 and played for 2 hours. This game is pretty good but I think the AI attack system needs a patch or something. Tactics isn't working to well for me.

WHY WON"T IT START? I've been looking at the clock all night. It's half past midnight in Europe right now and release date was half an hour ago. Must be patient..check again....refresh.... STEAM still tells me it's unreleased.....must be patient....check email for codes?....no codes....check STEAM again....I should really go to bed and try again tomorrow.
