Time I updated my post. I found operator error to be my problem and I have found out how to control the character much better. The left mouse button controls the camera angle and if you hold it down and carefully move the mouse then all you need to do is move your character in the direction you want. Much better this way.Numbnumb27 wrote...
I just got Dragon Age: Origins today and installed it. A bit tricky as some of the instructions are not clear especially about how to register your game. It doesn't do it automatically so be sure you do that.
I bought it from EA Store and glad I did. Quick and on time delivery. I will do that again the next time I buy one of their games.
I find the player controls are too much and need to be changed. In battle I need three hands. One to control the movement of my character, the second to change the direction he is running and the third hand to use the mouse to click on opponents to attack. All at the same time. Something needs to be done about this. I do hope they can change this since it is way to much to have to handle in combat and, by the time I get the character where he should be and doing what he needs to do, ..... DEAD!
It is seriously hindering my enjoyment of this game. It has SUCH potential, too!!
Now that I have played this for a while I must say it's a bit like reading Lord of the Rings while simultaniously watching the movies and being able to play one of the characters in the movie. Fantastic.
Normally having so many video interruptions to move the story along would be defeating to the game but Bioware has managed to make the in game videos interesting enough and tightly entwined in the story as to be very entertaining.
Second or third play through might be a little different but I don't know yet as I haven't done that yet.
This game was definately worth my money!

Gettingto know you characters and romances have been about in a few games, this
is the only one apart from Baldurs gate though, where I actualy want to,where I want to listen to all the diaglouge.take Alistar,I noticed a thread on here, and I couldnt agree more.He is such a character,I normaly find male characters very dull and being Male I normaly have more of an intrest in the female characters. But I actualy
find my charcter values him as a freind and not just a meat shield.Maybe its the voice acting which helps but he cracks me up and I just find it hard not to like him.
I think the game can be a bit hard in the beginning,Ive rolled a few characters to experience the different origins,I play on normal and I have issues with the earlier stages unless I play as mage.I'm not calling the mage over powered as I really dont have enough experience to say such a thing.I guess maybe the other chracters come into there own later, either that or im yet to get my tactics good ../../../images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png
Anyway sorry for the rant and my poor spelling,Just this game kicks ass and I needed to vent about it.I
just need to stick to one charcter now instead of exploring the different origins and effects they have, just so many to choose from and I'm fickle [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]
