Other names for "download content":
Addons
Expansions
Extra save slots
Extra character slots
Unique items
Bonus areas
etc
I would assume that if you have not yet bought a game that requires you to pay for some sort of "extra" then you havent been playing games for very long.

I sadly can't get it until Christmas but i went out to rent it today, hellbent on getting it and more excited than i've been for a game in my life, only to be crushed, No Dragon Age, and not even Borderlands or Modern Warfare 2 to ease my pain. Instead i end up grabbing a random game i end up hating and go home to sulk. Tomorrow i'm probably going to go out and see if it's been brought back but, if it has it'll be rented again by now and Blockbuster has a deal where you can keep the game for a month now so... probably waiting until christmas.

Just got it. My son raved about it last night. I had read the reviews. I loved BG and KOTOR. Bought the Collector's Edition. First cloth map from a game IIRC since Ultima IV; nice retro touch!

Thinking about getting it; looking at the character creator right now. I miss the sociopath and psycho voicesets from NWN1 though, they were funny! Also thinking of trying to recreate Henry Hatsworth using it. Rather amused by the expression bar the creator has, though.

I paid for the DDE and could not d/l it because EA download manager does not work in Win 7 64-bit OS. So I had to cancel and wait for the refund on my c/c invoice...
Then I paid for a pre-release CE on the 4th of november. (game was scheduled for release here on the 6th). Nothing, game was delayed and re-scheduled for the 13th... Friday the 13th... guess Jason got my copy 'cause again, no release... EA website here says game is in stores already (since the 13th) but no store has it and claims EA delayed delivery... and I'm still waiting my paid pre-order delivery...
So I paid equivalent to USD 160 (80 each) and got nothing but the promise of a 80 USD refund on my next invoice... guess no one can blame me for playing a torrent image until I get my copy... who knows, in my third playthrough I might be able to get the extras from my Collector's Edition that never arrives...
Well, now back to finish my second run and at least the community already provided a nice camp storage chest so I don't have to buy a dlc for that, which I cannot do anyway until my CE edition is installed...
Devs should punish publishers for any lost sale in the 5th world economy country, if they have any % on sales, i.e., and I truly, truly, hate EA games!

Up to about level 11 now - my impressions of the changes from previous/traditional Bioware games so far...
Like:
- health regeneration out of battle - no sleeping at inns every 5 minutes
- the compromise on level scaling, but i'd still like difficulty to be more area based
- tactical gameplay - archers on hills firing from range etc. it'd be even better with 5 party members though... and if people would keep attacking who you tell them to attack... and if you would set 'hold position' on a per-charater basis...
Dislike:
- unused party members auto level - i want full control of levelling.
- hidden game mechanics. by all means don't show dice rolls on the main screen but allow us to see _something_ happening _somewhere_ so we can geek out maximising stats if we wish
Story and acting are great obviously.
BTW - hi!

I got this a few days ago. What is the difference between DA and the Collector's Edition? I think I'm going to be pissed when I find out, but I still would like to know.

Hey Guys!
I got it for a week now but there wasn't a chance to play it before yesterday. Played it from noon to midnight. And in the end it said "2% of Dragon Age completed"! Yeah!
Bioware: Once again you made my day. You are the best game design company in the world! Now all that's left to do is to add MP in the first expansion.
Best,
dsan1

I got it yesterday. I made a city elf and completed the origin of it. Had much fun with a stealthy rogue.
I'm going to go through the other origins/classes over the next few days to find what suits me. So far, exceptional.
