So Bioware, will you fix the issue about war assets for the single player ?

Why do you care so much about a 15 second tease that, like much of the ending, makes no sense?

If not all endings are available without playing multiplayer, then BioWare demonstrably misled consumers.

From Jarret Lee, in this very forum :

You can maximize your EMS just by collecting War Assets in the single-player game. There is a certain threshhold of these you would need to exceed (I can't get too specific) but I can tell you there are MORE than the required amount that can be gathered in the single-player campaign.

And that is a LIE (unless he was counting DLC that's not even out yet, or something like that).

Honestly, I'm pretty neutral about the ending. But this, this really angered me. It would be pretty easy to fix, just up the base Readiness to 60% or so, or lower War assets required for optimal ending.

Totally this.

If they upped the base readiness to 60% it'd solve everything. You'd still have to collect most of the available stuff, but it'd allow some breathing room at the same time. As it is, it's pretty much impossible to break the 4000 EMS mark without playing MP or one of the iOS apps, even if you min/max on the choices. The 50% readiness really screws everyone over

Because it's the only ending where Shepard lives. Besides it's more than the 15 seconds scene. People are pissed that they've been flat-out lied to and are forced to play Bioware's multiplayer just to access every single player ending.

I would say that your question is a bit silly actually. Why do I care, Because my game shouldn't be affected by multiplayer, because it should be complete alone. If you are fine with single player without everything, good for you, I'm not happy with this. This is important, because it is a wrong first step as many feared. The next step will be worse if we don't say no today.

A single player for a single player game should be complete alone

And don't bother saying, but it is just a few seconds, this isn't the point and you won't convince me. Don't waste your breathe.

Finished my game last night with a character I had brought all the way through ME1 and ME2.

Without getting into spoilers, I made a lot of decisions that netted me max possible War Assets.  The only things that I could have done (that I know of) to get more WA, I needed to have done in ME1's Bring Down the Sky DLC and Mordin's loyalty questy in ME2...and even then, I do not believe that would have gotten me where I needed to be in terms of WA/EMS.

I did every side mission in ME3 with the exception of 5 of the citadel hub quests.  Its possible I missed some scannable WAs, but fairly unlikely.  In terms of decisions that I made in ME3 to maximize WAs...I am pretty sure I did most of them, and again because I had an ME1 character I had a lot of options to get essentially bonus WAs from having previous characters around that are not present in ME3 according to the ME canon.

My WAs were not even 7000.  My EMS was like 3500 because I had downloaded the ME3 Datapad IOS app and gotten my Galactic Readiness up some.

This is not an acceptable situation Bioware.  Easiest/best way to fix it that I see is to bump up GR to 75%.

I felt the same way as many of you do... I gave in and tried MP.... it has me hooked... it's really fun! Hit me up if you play PC, I'll play a few rounds with ya... it doesn't take many matches to even get to 100% too.

BioWare, prepare to die. If my internet is not back up by the end of next week, you can expect my Shepard's choice this time around not to be to destroy the Reapers, but to be to merge his consciousness with the Reapers, and destroy you. You have invoked the wrath of The Shepard. Have a nice day.

They'll probably cut it when MP fails in a few weeks or months.

If MP doesn't fail though, guess you have to bite the bullet.

I have to agree with the OP, I'm a retired civil engineer that has been around computers since the Sinclair spectrum days and in all my years of gaming I have never once played MP even though a fair few of my purchases have some kind of dedicated MP aspect to it. Single player is my genre of play and having MP forced upon me so I can then achieve a "better" ending, really is a let down.

PC and Xbox players will just mod their saves. PS3 players will send Reaper to Bioware...

That would mean false advertising, and misinformation in the sticky in this forum. There is still an option that they just screwed up - there are a few star systems where no assets are available, maybe it's a bug. But the fact that they avoid the threads about EMS and do not comment it on their twitter does not make me optimistic.

They're not even acknowledging that this problem exists so I doubt they'll be fixing it anytime soon.

IMO that's one of the worst thing they've done lately.

If the player's analysis is somehow wrong, they should already have explained and corrected it.

If there's point mising somewhere then it should have been part of the patch anouncement.

If it's working as intended thus making Casey Hudson (interviews) and Jarret Lee (the infamous sticky up there) either liars or incompetents (the lead develloper of the game now knowing how it works, come on). You don't want to have representative pass as liar or incompetent, you do a PR preemptive strike by denouncing the problem and modify the game to fit the advertisements before the arguments run wild.

Their silence and inaction baffles me.

Their next game anouncement might very well elicit the very same response from me... (and I've yet to play ME3)

At times like these, I am SO glad that I play on a platform where I can make the game do what I want.
+50% readiness per private match FTW! :wizard:

On a serious note, it was definitely wrong to blackmail most players into playing multiplayer. That just makes the situation with the endings worse. Not only do the endings make the singleplayer feel pointless, but we're also being prodded to play multiplayer for the express purpose of getting us to buy DLC for it? Ever heard of kicking a dog when its down?

I did every quest in SP and fell short of 4000 EMS. So it's not just me than? Good. I was beginning to wonder.

I'm still very miffed that with the amount of moderators constantly browsing this forum AND the time given between the first complaint of this nature that no answers have been given either way by any BioWare staff, and I'm a paying XBL Gold subscriber. I don't want to force multiplayer into my game because I feel it kills the spirit of my up-to-this-point very personal, very satisfying SP experience. I don't want to ruin the sanctity of my several campaigns by injecting something I simply don't want to do into the fray. I would love to explore multiplayer after I finish the game the way I want to, and I'm sure most of you feel the same way.

Unprofessional.

I like MP's connection to SP, but it doubling your EMS if maxed is too much. A 25% boost would be the ideal max benefit.

How can some of you people not get over 4000. I had my GR at 50% and had well over 5500. GR barely effects your war assets.

Just another vote looking for an explanation.  I ended up with 3600 EMS after doing every side quest and 100% scan in every mission.  I know I gave up a few assets due to a decision I made around Tuchanka, but I doubt that that single decision would cost me 800 TMS that would be needed to hit 4k.

I'm not a fan of multiplayer and don't want to buy xbox live gold just for this.  I'd use the mobile apps they released to boost my awareness except, oops, I have android, not iOS.

We're talking about EMS, not war assests.

5500 Total assets or 5500 effective assets?  It's the latter that matter.

Remove galactic readiness entirely.

Such a stupid concept forcing people to play multiplayer.

It really is at the end of the day a form of blackmail EA , this is just beyond the pale and crossed a line that will at the least change my mind on preordering any of your games again. And could lead to a decision to never by your product again.

Another vote for this. I've finished the game twice now, doing all the side quests and scanning every last planet, so at the end my map was 100% in all the systems that you could look in. Done it with the official game guide in hand.
Could not even once pass 7200 TMS.
