Yeah, by using iOS apps. Contrary to BIoware's pre-release statements and post-release clarifications, you cannot get the best ending just by playing single player.
So Bioware, will you fix the issue about war assets for the single player ?

The simple fix would be a patch that lowers the EMS requirements to get different endings.
My bigger concern is, for those who do chose to play MP right now, what happens if you want to replay the game (or the series) several years from now. Will MP still be supported? Will anyone else be playing? I haven't tried MP yet, but I plan to, and I would love an option where you can bring some bots along with you if you don't have anyone else to play with.
Of course, we could all be getting excited about nothing. If Bioware always did intend to do a follow-up DLC ending, maybe you can still achieve the 'optimal' ending with only 3000 EMS (which you can easily achieve in SP). That is the max size of the green bar in the Galactic Readiness screen after all. The 'Shepard lives' cutscene might only have been a teaser for people who went the extra mile with MP...
