If Tali's photo didn't come from a google stock photo, would you have liked it more?

I certainly would have liked it more. It actually looks really nice. But the fact that this is just a photoshop from google makes me cringe.

I really liked the concept art of the quarians in the art book.

yeah i didn't know about all the hubbub about it at first, and I thought it was cute. I was worried she'd be terrifying, so her looking basically human was alright by me.

I find we have bigger fish to fry when it comes to ME3, like.... the ending.

In all fairness, it's from Getty.

That being said, it's a lazy reveal. I think a 3D model or none at all would have been best.

Thats the biggest problem with it.  If people didn't know any better they wouldn't complain as much.

That said, this is EXACTLY how I always viewed quarians/tali.  Amazing job.

I still would have said it was lazy. They could at least have showed her face on her model when she takes off her mask on Rannoch. Is rendering one Quarian's face so hard? I already thought it was lazy enough going "oh yeah, they totally need to wear their masks even on the Flotilla" in ME2.

I was and still am a firm believer that her face shouldn't have been shown in ME3 at all. It does not matter what she would have looked like, the end result would have pissed off a certain % of fans and there was always going to be backlash regardless.

It's not bad, but too human looking and lazy done. If it was on 3d model I would say it's ok to accept, but nothing epic. Would rather see this:

^^^

The problem wasn't the face itself, or even the Photoshop controversy. The problem was how they chose to reveal it. They let the perfect opportunity to reveal it on Rannoch go to waste.

Maybe but what i really wanted was to see her face in an actual cut scene.

i would have liked it more if it were higher quality, regardless of what the image actually was. that said, the z-brush model posted on another thread a few posts back is a beautiful rendition and i want to marry that image and have little origami babies with it.

This.
Also, surely it would not have been THAT hard to pick one of the already existing Fan-arts.

It doesn't really bother me that much. Ultimately, it didn't matter so much about what she actually looked like, but the sentiment that she shared that with me that mattered.

It was fine regardless, I just thought she looked way too human for an alien.

I may have even liked the stock photoshop if they had done a half decent job of it.

My issue with the stock photo, well besides the fact that it was a stock photo.

There's legality issues involved with just picking up someone's artwork off the internet and using it in your multimillion dollar game. Stock photos, however, are royalty free once you pay for the right to use it as you see fit. Much easier on the leagal department.

I'm sort of upset that from the ****** up she looks 100% human, but the photo doesn't bother me one lick. Okay, I lied. Her creepy little fingers in the photo give me the shivers if I look at them too hard.

Not doing it at all would have been better than half***ing it, the fact they don't understand THAT worries me more than anything (explains the endings).

It's odd, putting them side by side and saying it like that really does make it that much more shameful...

Sorry, but I've never liked that picture on the left.

As lazy as it may be, I'm totally fine with what they gave as her face.  Mind you, I had my own ideas on her looks, and her fingers are definitely off, but...

Eh, just my humble opinion.  ^_^
