If Tali's photo didn't come from a google stock photo, would you have liked it more?

It was cheap. They could have done a better job. But I think it's just an indication that things got rushed along as they built out the MP which, really isn't much value. Who comes up with these bad ideas..

Both high quality fan art shames the cop-out route Bioware took. Absolutely no excuse in my opinion and it needs to be fixed. Contact the enthusiastic artist of choice and request their help. Patch please.

To be honest I don't care very much. Many people wanted Tali to lok as human as possible (just read some Shep/ Tali fanfics), now she does, whether it's a photoshopped photo or something specially done for the game, what does it matter?
Would have been nice, but I can live with it.

I wanted to see Tali in more regular clothing on Rannoch, so that you could see how her face, her head and such look together with the differences in the anatomy (legs/ wider hips). Basically how a Quarian looks out of their suits in their natural habitat.

Since I didn't get that, I don't care much which photo is used, as long as she is not ugly as the night.

I think this would be more accurate then what the developers gave us.  A exotic blend of Human and Turian with a little Asari. The artist here is very creative.

Lol, I actually really like that stock model's face on Tali, but yes, the protrait was really lazy, as half the model's hand was simply airbrushed off to make 3 fingers w/o expanding the palm, which makes Tali's hand look totally messed up in the portrait.

I guess the pic could've been tweaked a bit more to make Tali more albino looking. The dark hair works because of it's exotic cues though, so I would've kept that.

Mostly I'm just happy I called the Quarians for exactly what they turned out to be: space elves. Image IPB

I think she looks great, i do wish the photoshop job seemed a bit more professional but I sorta like the exotic human look they went with.

To be fair she's not, she's lilac.  I think you might be projecting.

Lack of skin pigment due to lack of UV exposure?

This. Why couldn't they have thought of something like this?

To be honest I absolutely don't like this image. It looks like a woman with too many faceliftings.

If they would have done the ingame one a bit better(f.e. the hand) i would be ok with it., although I agree with most of the others that an ingame 3d model would be be the best solution. To add a face to the existing body can't be so difficult and time consuming.

This is pretty much what bugs me the most.
The Elder Scrolls has a similar thing too, Bethesda get paid and make you pay for the game they worked so "hard" on, 2 weeks after release someone in thier spare time has fixed 90% of the major problems and made some minor tweaks that have significantly improved the game (similar to the coalesed edits which have helped PC players), they also charge for a DLC where someone has made a mod including a quest 6 times longer for free. The bigger insult is lots of "thier" ideas where taken from those people who made it for free and they don't even get credit beyond "We had a lot of inspiration from mods". Bioware has done this here, and still managed to do a worse job for it.
But no even if the image Bioware done was completely original it doesn't change the many flaws it has. Though I was expecting Tali to appear less human, but if it was the image on the left I would have been fine with it.

At first I was surprised at how human she looked. But I did think she looked cute and was happy with that, though would have rather seen a 3d model. Then I found out about the photoshop and it just annoyed me because it was lazy. I don't know why we couldn't just see her face when she took her mask off (maybe only if she's a LI as a reward for us loyal Tali-ites).

To be honest I was just relieved it didn't turn out like that joke (hilarious actually) Tali reveal youtube video.

I would have preferred it if she looked more alien and had a different skin tone. I find it creepy that she looks nearly human, but with an elongated neck and weird fingers and feet. Less hot alien and more like Slenderman.

I prefer what they gave us over the slimy tentacle tali that some of you seem to drool about.

If Bioware can release a true in-game model of her in a DLC, I would be entirely satisfied.

What I don't get is, how you make a big fuss out of hiring a popular deviant art fan artist like Patryk Olejniczak and then use a stock photo?

Yes, obviously. It's disgustingly lazy for a big studio like Bioware.

She just looks far too human in the picture she gives you. Stock photo should not be the final product, its very lazy and uncreative. The pictures I see here in this thread would have been much better choices. I can see bioware's idea in regards to the controversial "ending", however I just cannot justify their decision to reveal tali in this manner, let alone render an actual 3D model with tgeir own resources, instead of photo shopping an image from the internet.

As far as I'm concerned if this is how they will let tali's face remain, I find that unacceptable. Bioware developers if you read this please consider actually putting forth the effort to create a unique appearance for this wonderful character.

What I like about this is there's an element of Turian about it (i.e. the pointy bits extending over the 'hair-line'). They've already got similar hands and legs, so it makes sense to share something else from a possibly shared distant ancestory. It may be my early-morning mind playing tricks, but don't the Turians and Quarians also share some dietary requirements?

That said...

...this is my favourite.

As someone else mentioned, one of the problems with the Tali issue is, whatever look BioWare went with, it was always going to rub people the wrong way. But to do it as they have - a fleeting glimpse at a poorly-photoshopped stock-pic from Google - is pathetic how ever you try to spin it.

The reveal should have come at the end of Rannoch and, love it or hate it, it should have been memorable.
