We'll see.

The question remains however - if this was the case, would it be a problem?

Yet another "is paid DLC ethical?" question..

FFS people, this ISN'T A GOD DAMN LAWSUIT! Why the hell can't you people understand that? This is a complaint! A COMPLAINT! All it will do is tell FTC to watch out for EA's false advertising of the game. THAT IS IT!

Just one question, how old are you and have you ever held a job in a bigger company?
You just NEVER, I repeat NEVER, call for higher authorites unless you have tried everything possible to solve a problem on the lowest level possible.

I am well aware of the fact that this isn't a real lawsuit and there isn't much going to happen, but it demonstrates to BioWare and EA that we have no respect for them...

This is not the way to accomplish what we want. Would you rather have developers fixing the game or giving statements to end pointless legal proceedings and inquiries?

Your opinion, and you're entitled to it.  My opinion, and consumer protection laws, disagree.

Bash me all you'd like, but my complaint is filed.

And it'll do no good and sabotage whatever little credibility this ridiculous movement had to begin with.

Little credibility this little movement had? please do share.

Man get out of your videogame world and take a deep breath of reality!
I don't "fear" anything of this, because there is no possible way this could have a negative outcome for me in real life. I am simply pissed because stuff like that simply ruins EVERY WAY OF A POSSIBLE AGREEMENT on a civil level with EA and or BioWare.

"Ahh dear guys from BioWare, would you please give us alternate endings for ME3 via DLC? By the way, we just filed official complaints against you!"

It's really, really cute that people still think you can convince a million dollar corporation by being nice and having civil conversation. EA is not going to go out of their way and spend so many resources to make a DLC because you said "please".

The odds of us winning a legal challenge at this point are nil unless we've got some golden evidence I don't know about.  On the flipside, losing a legal challenge justifies EA/Bioware and harms us all.

Acting like spiteful children is not the way to get this franchise the ending it deserves. Remember why we're here, and, constructively, hold the line.

Because a lot of people have been brainwashed over the years as consumers to accept crappy products without the will to complain about them. They're the kind of customers companies want and why we get stuff made in China and not the US and why companies think they can rip us off.

No, they don't. They are being completely ignorant. The same people, of course, who call IGN ignorant.

Publicity makes or breaks a movement. Stupid, rash moves like this CONFIRM what IGN and Gamespot have been saying all along.

1. You sitting on a forum whining will do no good.

2. I don't have a clue what "credibility" you think you have for... well, sitting on a forum whining.

3. I don't see what me filing a complaint through proper channels would have to do with this so called "credibility."

We shouldn't have to wait for their say. There should never have been a need for their say.

Say, hypothetically, instead of the endings we have, we got a serious cliffhanger. One that was resolved and expanded upon in free DLC further down the line.

This is all covered by the price of the box.

Would that really be a problem?

As long as any DLC that expands and definitively ends the game is free, they upheld their end of the bargain.

A DLC will not be free...they have to make it, pay the workers, pay the voice actors, and the list goes on. It will cost money.,

Even if they wanted it to be free Bioware/EA doesn't have the final say on consoles Microsoft and Sony both give the final cost of a DLC. Go back to Gears of War Cliffy B wanted the DLC to be free Microsoft refused and they ending up having to go come to a deal where it would cost for X amount of months then go free.

Basically even if bioware wanted to do it free sony/microsoft still want their money.

Gears of war is published by Microsoft......... which is why they would have a final say in DLC price.

After reading the opinions on here I have to say good for OP. We can 'scream' and rage on the internet all we want but maybe only action outside it will do anything. Even though I don't think this stands a chance of sticking it would be nice if game companies tried to stick closer to the truth in interviews.

It is like the snake oil salesmen of the 19th century, they promised their elixir would do almost anything. Eventually the government had to step in there too.

This is outragous. Not only could they be shut down if this does carry though, we would loose everyother game that Bioware hasn't developed yet. Yall are taking this way too far. What no ome gets, os that Bioware is listening, they know the unrest and disgrace of the fans. Its not like Bioware would put out crap like this and leave it. They are gonna change it, so just hang in there. Don't file a suit against the friggin company, it wont solve anything but gain you anfew Renegade and a horrible ending to the whole company.

I want bioware shut down after they lied. That is fraud in my book. I want Bioware gone as anexample to other companies. Maybee if EA game had to shut down Bioware they would finally learn to start treating the customer properly.

I don't care if they change it the damage has been done. I have not wanted to play games since that aweful ending.

I think a lot of people are confusing 2 issues:

1) The ending of ME3 and the disappointment from it.
2) The fact that game devs lie to consumers on a regular basis.

An FTC complaint is not the correct response to the first. It IS the correct response to the second. Companies like EA do need to be smacked and told "NO! That's not okay. You are not allowed to lie to consumers and then laugh at them because they can't get their money back."

They are two separate issues that do happen to be connected but the second is a macro issue while the first is really a micro issue and in some ways an example of the second.

The video game industry is broken in many ways and those of who panning the OP are a huge part of the problem because you enable companies like EA to treat gamers poorly by telling them it's okay we're just going to keep buying your games anyway.

Plenty of us know the difference.  But how likely are IGN and their readers going to know the difference.  Especially given much of gaming media's leaning toward sensationalism.

I can see the Headline now: "Retake Mass Effect Tries to Get FTC to Change Video Game Endings"

People, please consider the implications of your actions better than Bioware considered the implications of their endings.

I think this is just the result of how Bioware is handling this situation. All we want is a statement over the ending, it could be just a couple of words saying they're going to fix it or not. Instead they're acting arrogant saying that their ending is fine, and there is also a lot of smoke about the future DLCs. I don't know what they hope to accomplish by leaving the details out. If this was actually planned out as a way to sell later DLC, this is a horrible move and would still be worse than just leaving the ending as "it" is. It would be fine if they would just admit they're mistake, just admit, I don't expect them to rush a release of fixed endings or even release until next month. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case, so I will support this cause to see if we can get a response out of EA/Bioware and just clear the air on this matter.

Nobody is immune the things like that even if it is video game, entertainment or even toy for children.

The only reason why they look invincible b.c some idiots don't even respect themselve, money and their investment as the customers who paid to get the service the told you they would give.
