Don't worry about what Gamespot and IGN think. OP, it's your right as a consumer to file a complaint. Some may not agree with you but what's done is done.

Let's keep the infighting to a minimum. This probably wasn't the first complaint filed anyway.

No, thanks. While I'd like to see some work (But no retcons) on the endings, I refuse to support people acting like this.

Please, don't judge all of us by the actions of just a few guys...

A few?

A FEW?

REVIEW BOMBING the game EVERYWHERE? (Like the endings or not, it does NOT deserve 0s or 1s).

Harassing devs on Twitter? Calling for spam attacks?

I have seen some in depth reviews detailing gripes with the ending WITHOUT discarding the rest of the game. They were bogged down by spite, venom and trash.

The majority opinion I have seen is that the game was great  except for the last five minutes.  Many of us are trying to do this calmy and civily.  Visit the charity forum if you want to see.

I think this is just the result of how Bioware is handling this situation. All we want is a statement over the ending, it could be just a couple of words saying they're going to fix it or not. Instead they're acting arrogant saying that their ending is fine, and there is also a lot of smoke about the future DLCs. I don't know what they hope to accomplish by leaving the details out. If this was actually planned out as a way to sell later DLC, this is a horrible move and would still be worse than just leaving the ending as "it" is. It would be fine if they would just admit they're mistake, just admit, I don't expect them to rush a release of fixed endings or even release until next month. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case, so I will support this cause to see if we can get a response out of EA/Bioware and just clear the air on this matter.

Bioware has never really admitted responsibility for anything in the past, I don't see them starting now, even though this whole mess is bigger than what they've dealt with before. When they finally release a statement, they'll probably just turn around the issue, make a little dance, release other stuff that will take away our attention, and then the issue will die down.

Next time, keep this to yourself. You didn't need to make this public and now we might face backlash just because of your stunt.

I apologize, maybe GoW is a bad example but it isn't the only example. Valve have been forced to charge for dlc before.

I think this is what I was remembering when I quoted that $40k figure.

Valve was charged simply to post the DLC. They made it paid to offset that charge.

It costs money to post something, it's up to the developer or publisher to set the price. If EA eats the price, then they're good.

It doesn't matter what people do. The gaming media is going to paint anyone who thinks the ending is a clear violation of what they promised as "whiny" and "entitled". Period. In their eyes, every single fan who didn't like it needs to just shut up and move on.

Don't listen to Persephone she was white knighting for Bioware when Dragon Age 2 released as well.

The odds of us winning a legal challenge at this point are nil unless we've got some golden evidence I don't know about.  On the flipside, losing a legal challenge justifies EA/Bioware and harms us all.

Acting like spiteful children is not the way to get this franchise the ending it deserves. Remember why we're here, and, constructively, hold the line.

FFS people, this ISN'T A GOD DAMN LAWSUIT! Why the hell can't you people understand that? This is a complaint! A COMPLAINT! All it will do is tell FTC to watch out for EA's false advertising of the game. THAT IS IT!

Yes, a complaint that will go nowhere and make us all look bad if it gets out.

I can tell you that it's made the movement look bad in my eyes - and my opinion was already dropping thanks to certain threads over the last few days, not to mention the obvious gloating in supposedly inflicting damage through (what I view as unfair, given the overall quality of the product) ratings bombing, etc.

I'm one of the more reasonable people here, but I'm certainly starting to see it as my mission to counterbalance the more melodramatic actions/statements. If more people were like IrishScott3, you'd still have me being supportive of your cause. As it stands, well, you don't.

And before that guy uses caps again, I know it's just a complaint to the FTC, not a lawsuit. It still strikes me as a ridiculous action to take, not to mention being a frivolous complaint in my eyes.

I think you guys don't understand what the action was. You're all acting like this is some terrible suit that is going to take up resources from Bioware because they're in some huge court case. My father is a take no BS type of guy. If your company gets something wrong and there isn't immediate action on your part my father sends out a BBB complaint. And considering that in the past five years there hasn't been any huge court cases involving my father and Sears, Nike, and three various watch companies I don't think you have to worry about this becoming a big deal.

But to add to that. THE BBB WEBSITE TAKES COMPLAINTS FROM CONSUMERS. COMPLAINTS. EVEN IF THAT COMPLAINT IS SOMETHING SMALL LIKE BEING OVERCHARGED OR BAD SHIPPING. So if the BBB is handling things like this everyday and not going to court, I think Bioware is fine.

I find OP actions to be completely logic. And if people followed, it would probably be 100xs more effective than us on the BSN.

If OP had said, "Hey I'm going to sue BW who wants in?" Then yeah I think he'd be an idiot. But that is not at all what he is doing

Love to.

Thing is:

While this isn't my fight, I would GLADLY have helped from the sidelines, as loudly as I could. (I too have some issues with the endings) But this kind of behavior (2/5 on Amazon due to this? Metacritic? WTF? ) is as off putting as it gets.

True and if EA does act as such they would regain a lot of support for bioware. The issue arrising from this thread is how so many of us are emotionally invested in this game that we may get a little overzealous in our dealings of the situation and each other.

When a protest becomes a riot it isnt always at the fault of the authority internal strife or divergouses can cause just as much harm as an authority that refuses to bend or in this case isn't in many peoples opinion moving fast enough.

We know its not a lawsuit.  Some of us are concerned because this type of behavior, like you said, validates IGN's opinion.

How? By being civil and telling FTC "Hey, they made alot of false promises about the game. Just thought you should know."?

No kidding, huh? It's not like anyone is breaking into BioWare or EA's office buildings, or harrassing the employees at their homes.

The worst thing you can say about an FTC complaint is that someone who believes that they have a LEGITIMATE grievance its approaching the problem through the LEGITIMATE avenues that are available to all consumers.

You may disagree with the validity of his complaint, or how much response he'll actually get from the FTC (I agree that it's probably not much), but to say that this is somehow an EXTREME action that discredits us is, as another poster put it, moral cowardice.

He is not doing anything illegal or unethical. He is approaching the problem through civil means. Even if you disagree with him, he is still keeping everything civil, so please, calm down and just accept that some people think that more firm, but still civil, action is necessary.

The OP has not broken civility, but many of his detractors are threatening to, so I recomend everyone take a deep breath.

Ha ha, this entire situation is hilarious. We're all here complaining on a freaking internet forum about Bioware's ending and how Bioware is not listening to us customers. Then, one of us customers sends a letter of complaint to a government body who can obviously FORCE Bioware to listen. Now everyone is suddenly UP IN ARMS and PANICKING, like a bunch of scared little girls caught putting on their mommies' make-up, suddenly afraid what a bunch of other internet nerds is gonna say about them on blogs and websites that are probably biased against them to begin with.

Grow up, children. If you can't take a few licks, then you don't deserve to call yourself a "movement." If you're complaining about something so mundane as a letter to the FTC and BBB, then you truly are just a bunch of whiny entitled kiddies. Grow a pair.

Jesus Christ.

Jeez, I wasn't pleased with the endings either, but this seems a tad unecessary. Especially since Bioware hasn't even officially responded to the complaints yet. I think you blew your load a little early there, pal.

And that's why things like an FTC complaint (or lots of them) might actually be necessary and the right course of action as consumers...  Assuming of course you actually care about your rights as a consumer and your ability to make informed purchases and developers being held accountable for their products.

But I understand those things aren't important to everyone (not necessarily referring to those quoted).

Oh man this is really funny , i dont know what is worse , the guys filling the complaints and thinking they will get their money back , or the guys for the hold the line thinking that Bioware is going to change the end game because they are "Diplomatic".

Is amazing to look at all this.

Im surprised at Amazon but not Metacritic.  They did the same thing for MW3.  I don't like MW3 but it doesn' t deserve as low as people were giving it.
