To be fair, I think we can give them more time, if that's going to result in something positive. I just hope that when they finally release a statement, that they're going to take responsibility for their mistakes, not avoid them and change the subject.

If this isn't an artistic risk that backfired on them direly, I'll eat my hat and quit this forum.

The endings are not the endings. There's going to be more, and it's going to be free. And if it Isn't, I'm happy to say I was wrong.

This is one tactic to get the ending changed that I legitimately dislike.

Ok...I just want to know..What exactly are you looking for here? What do you think will happen? Not flaming or trying to attack anyone. I'm honestly curious about your motives/hopes for an outcome.

I would like some kind of actual response and dialogue between Bioware and the Mass Effect community on what appears to be grossly misleading statements to all of us about specific content in the game. So far, starting lots of threads, emailing them, asking them through twitter, starting facebook campaigns, and making lots of sig banners has elicited no response other than "We hear you but we're not going to talk about it". I like Bioware, I've been buying their games since the first Baldur's Gate, and I would like to conitnue buying their games. But after the statements they made about specific things in ME3 (not just "It'll be awesome") that proved untrue, I don't feel confident buying their products anymore, and certainly not new products. I sell advertising for a living and also run outreach campaigns for charities and political groups, so I am well aware of the amount of superfluous hype present in marketing, that's why I would never have made the kinds of specific claims that bioware did about their product when they weren't accurate, and if I had I would have provided an explanation to my customer base. When the company I'm with receives a complaint, it's not the end of the world, it happens; but we do look at it and see if there's any legitimacy to it, and regardless we try to resolve the issue with the customer or at least acknowledge their concerns. This has not happened yet with Bioware, and 10 days is more than enough time for the to have made some kind of statement.

I dont think this would have gone so far if BW just responded to this major issue . Obviously they havent whether they cant or just wont. It was only a matter of time before someone went there . I hope this all gets settled soon before its gets worse for all parties involved

They just won't. They could have along time ago said "We have heard your concerns about the ending and we are looking into it" and people would have been happy.

They are still waiting as I believe the last release date was for some of the Asian countries either yesterday or today.  They are trying to keep their comments quite until they can find a way to fix this.  By fix this I don't know if that means fix an ending but they definately have people working the damage control.  The worse we make it on them during this first round the longer it is going to take them to respond.

You're trolling based on the posts you've made in this thread. The bait and switch, if nothing else was the MP crap which they deny is required but not one person has been able to get 4k without. Unless you can show a screenshot, don't even bother claiming you can get 4k without MP.

Done with you.

I actually got 5900 on my playthrough single player only, but mine was also an ME1 and 2 import and I did pretty much every quest in the game.

Your EMS was 5900?
Screenshot please because you're mistaking total with effective.

It's on an xbox, and I never really figured all that out. had 50% readiness the whole game, 5900 war assets and the bar was full for quite a while, so it's a bit confusing.

Ya, that statement was: "We are listening to you and we will answer your questions about the ending."

Which translates to: "We are hearing what you are saying and we are more then happy to try and explain away our poorly written ending while doing absolutely nothing about it."

You are incredible. This is exactly what you described in your quoted post.

The game's been out for a week. Something will happen. Just wait for a minute.

"Looking into" is a whole lot different then "answering questions". Looking into implies that they know there is a problem and they are looking into ways to fix it.

That already happened when they started raising money for a chairty lol. Not that I'm against the good sentaments to chaity.

Yeah, but at least something resulted with that. But complaints to the government? Isn't the FTC more busy protecting consumers against commercial fraud over making sure BioWare gives its fans a better ending in ME3?

Well if the OP is truthful then he is attempting just that to keep Bioware able to comment commercial fraud by falsely advertising their merchandise.

I think let´s keep a cool head and give it another week for Bioware to respond.

Hey it's another way of getting the message across. Technically, word for word, I believe it's a valid case. I'd say they're pretty guilty of false advertising frankly. So, respect.

They've actually said in a tweet some time ago something along the lines of "if fans knew what we were planning they wouldn't be so up in arms". Incredibly vague, I know, but can we at least maintain voicing our concerns right now and simply leave it at that until they've had the opportunity to show us this grand plan that's supposed to make everyone happy? Sure, it might be a letdown. It might be some DLC letting us play as Javik during the reaper attack on the Protheans, it could be a DLC that shows the struggles Joker has every morning just getting out of bed and getting dressed, or maybe, just maybe, it might be a DLC that sheds light on the ending. If that latter does turn out to be the case, we can amend our positions accordingly. Maybe even that DLC will suck. Maybe they'll try to charge $15 simply for a more explained ending. We don't know yet. We have no idea. Play some other games for now and keep voicing your complaints and see what happens.

Since the beginning of this whole mess, I've been saying this was a clever way EA devised to make us pay more. I highly doubt any DLC, any fix, will be free. I've been wondering if this wasn't some kind of experiment EA is doing with this product because it gets more attention than another of their games, so the results would get noticed more.

A lot of people (me included) have said that if they release an alternate ending, we'll pay for it. Knowing that fact, EA wins. In the long run, it will affect all their games, and us, gamers/consumers, will be screwed.

To me, the whole issue is about ethical business practices, not the colorful ending.

Again, how? You know someone is trying to get people together to protest the game outside of BW headquarters? How is that less damaging than sending a complaint to the proper organization? People seem to be supporting the protest when that will just make people look bad. Remember those girls that protested Ryan Gosling not being sexiest man alive? They were called crazy.

And?  Pointing out that other people are also doing ridiculous things doesnt somehow make something non-ridiculous.

I stand by the fact that going through proper channels and making a complaint is less ridiculous. I'm just pointing out the hypocricy of the board accepting something that will mostly be detrimental to our 'public image' than this.

I feel by calling his complaint to the FTC ridiculous you're calling the entire Retake Mass Effect movement on BSN ridiculous. What are RME people doing? They're making their complaints known. What did OP do? He made his complaints known. Where's the difference? Well one group is online making a big deal of it. The other made a complaint through proper channels and mentioned it online. OP didn't make this thread a big deal. He simply was offering another route for people. People calling him a baby made this thread a big deal.

This isn't a good idea. The game has only been out for a week and a half, and I'm fairly certain that BioWare have something up their sleeves. I agree that the ending should be fixed, but this is a tad extreme. Be patient.

I agree with being patient, but all of us have a right to exercise our consumer rights. I can't ask the OP to hold off on a complaint he feels is legitimate because it makes me look bad.

I can only hope that he does it a little more quietly so that it doesn't create so much dissention in the ranks of our movement.

Possibly. I will remain optimistic. I can buy the story that some douchebag leaked the script and they wanted to ensure that something remained unspoiled. I can buy the fact that EA might have pressured them to kick it out the door (one can be supportive of Bioware's artistic choices and still assume that EA is a bit of an evil overlord). And I think that they will release it for free, because as I say, EA can afford to.

Either way, we'll see.

Trust me, I feel the same but I'm on the opposite side of the matter. To me, personally, it feels like people are willing to complain about the ending (and subsequently what Bioware has said about the game prerelease ) but not exercise their rights as consumers.

This.

While I don't feel it strongly enough to complain myself, respect his choice.

I think many who have posted here have no idea what the FTC actually is or how it works.
