I stand by the fact that going through proper channels and making a complaint is less ridiculous. I'm just pointing out the hypocricy of the board accepting something that will mostly be detrimental to our 'public image' than this.

I feel by calling his complaint to the FTC ridiculous you're calling the entire Retake Mass Effect movement on BSN ridiculous. What are RME people doing? They're making their complaints known. What did OP do? He made his complaints known. Where's the difference? Well one group is online making a big deal of it. The other made a complaint through proper channels and mentioned it online. OP didn't make this thread a big deal. He simply was offering another route for people. People calling him a baby made this thread a big deal.

QFT. Seems like there is alot of hypocrisy going around.

Trust me, I feel the same but I'm on the opposite side of the matter. To me, personally, it feels like people are willing to complain about the ending (and subsequently what Bioware has said about the game prerelease ) but not exercise their rights as consumers.

Bad Move. Bad Press. I know you're upset. But this is very damaging.

In a best case scenario this fails and colors people that care passionately about the game and want more closure in a bad light.

In a worst case scenario this works. I think you're too caught up in the idea of the positive benefits to consider the negative repurcussions to that.

I don't know whether to laugh or SMH at the concept of a BBB and FTC complaint.

It's the responsible and legal avenue to deal with issues regarding advertising of commercial products. It's also how adults deal with stuff, through an agreed upon legal framework. It's also important to share this information with other consumers, doubly so given the amount of ignorance in this thread with regards to people who thought this was a lawsuit or somesuch.

They probably field a thousand complaints just like this everyday.

First time in seven days I've been ashamed of my involvement with the Retake crowd, I simply cannot believe the hypocritcal reaction to the OP excercising his right as a citizen.

C'mon gang, you are better than this.

Alright then. EVERYONE on BSN should shut up about what they think BSN has done. Then NO ONE will be painted in a bad light for being an unhappy customer. BIOWARE WINS YAY.

...Oh wait... people wanted the consumer to win.... ooops

I think it is because gamers have had it beaten into them that they have no rights as a consumer.

Honestly, i had a pretty bad opinion of this "movement" already, but this... words just fail me... I just hope that all this childish dont ruin what bioware had planed for those of us that actually liked the game and didnt mind all that much about the ending.

This can only serve to "damage" the movement by making it look irrational.

Again, how? You know someone is trying to get people together to protest the game outside of BW headquarters? How is that less damaging than sending a complaint to the proper organization? People seem to be supporting the protest when that will just make people look bad. Remember those girls that protested Ryan Gosling not being sexiest man alive? They were called crazy.

And?  Pointing out that other people are also doing ridiculous things doesnt somehow make something non-ridiculous.

There is quite the gaping chasm between "making my opinion known" and "filing a complaint with the federal government".

It's simply the truth. Just wait until more gaming sites get a hold of this and then completely trash all of us because of it. This doesn't do a thing to help the cause.
