I seem to remember getting it earlier than that. Like I had it on Alistair when I went to Lothering. But then again, I was playing as a mage so I started in the circle tower. Maybe I looted it at the start and didn't realize it.

Maybe you're thinking of the Knight-Commander armor, bought from the shady merchant outside the gates of Orzammar?

Still, I seriously doubt you had it by the time you reached Lothering.

You can buy a superior version of the armor in the Frostback Mountains area. It's called Knight Commander's something.

Are you sure? I think the only place to get it is in the Circle and you cant go there before Lothering.

Also i got a set of Templar Boots on a random, atleast it seemed random since i didnt get it on my other playthrough, from a templar enemy there, before even doing the Bewitched Templar encounter.
