To save us from repitition I'm going to exclude the ending for consideration. What was the most gut wrenching moment in ME3 for you? I'll list off a few of mine.
  • Thane's death
  • Mordin's death
  • Eve's death
  • Ashley's injuries on Mars
  • Anderson's death
  • Legion's death
  • Saying goodbye to everyone on Earth before the final push
  • TIM's downfall, I really did pity him, and tried to get him to join the alliance/help humanity
  • and finally before I knew the ending, getting pumped up thinking i'm about to go through the portal and fight a final boss on the citadel and then... getting shot by Harbinger and thinking it was all over and thinking I had failed and believing the squadmates with me had also been fried on the final push.
All in all ME3 was an amazing game and I will never regret this experience.  Loved the game.  Ending not so much, but I'm starting to understand it more and come to terms with it.

Garrus' goodbye (not romanced - just friends). Soon after that, Anderson's death on the Citadel ("You did good, child. I'm proud of you.")

After that, just seeing Shepard throughout the entire ending sequence, bloodied but unbowed - going to her (for all I knew) her death.

Yeah. ALL of my tears.

Eve can be saved though. I thought saying goodbye to everyone in London was hard to pull through

Definitely saying goodbye to everyone on Earth before the final attack. Especially your LI.

The ending.

(On a more serious note the conversation with anderson, during the ending...)

Legion's death. Mordin is a close second, but his death was destiny.

Mordin's death. Then Thane's death. And prior to everything turning out all right, my heart was breaking for Tali during Rannoch.

I think the saddest is Thane's death...Yes i know it was so predictable but the whole prayer scene was just so powerful (emotionally speaking). Thane wished the best for Shep and wanted to look after shep even when he physically couldn't. It was amazing. I mean I think the endings are great because the whole ME3 game you keep getting foreshadowing that this might not end like it did with the Collectors or Saren. I mean when you hang out with Garrus at the Citadel...he wanted to just to hang out with Shep because odds are, Garrus never wouldve been able to do all he did in his life if he didn't meet Shep. I mean when you are talking with Garrus before the final fight. Garrus says that if we dont make it out of this one, I will meet you at the bar wherever it is that we go to after death. I just love this game because of the emotional grip the game can have over you.

London was great, probably my favorite part of the entire game, getting to talk to crew mates rehash past experiences and make future plans was just phenominal story telling. Great game, mediocre generic ending though, I wouldve preferred the reapers winning and destroying the galaxy at least that wouldve taken brass, instead we get that generic self sacrifice ending ( I dont believe in the indoctrination theory)

Mine does come in the ending, and it's not because I am so sad that the ending sucks so hard. For me the absolute pinnacle of my emotional investment came when I saw Shepard dying, even if it was a crappy unrealistic and not worthy of him at all death. That hit me hard and I really liked the way BioWare made Shepard so unafraid to die. Took my breath away then and it does everytime I watch it again.

Tali's suicide/destruction of Quarian race/Legion's death, if you chose to side with the Geth. Won't be doing that again! I don't think my heart can take it! I was never so emotionally distraught at a video game moment as I was at that moment! :crying::crying:

Saddest part is when Shepard collapses reaching for the panel after coming so far. For those few seconds you feel all hope is lost.

I'm not making a joke about the ending or anything either. I didn't mind it that much considering having those gripping moments like the above and Anderson's last conversation.

On Topic: Andersons extended last words is my top sad moment, would have been Grunt's sacrifice but well it's common knowledge what happened.

Mordin's Death hit me pretty hard. When he started singing, I sung with him and the comment about the Seashells set me off even more.

Got pretty worried about Ash while she was in the hospital. Waited so long for my Shep to be finally reunited with her and to think that she wouldn't of made it, worried me a little.

Thane got me teary eyed too along with Legion.

Lastly the ending due to the flashbacks and the whole not really understanding what the hell just happened. But yeah, for me, there were a lot of teary-eyed moments. It was an emotional rollercoaster.

Thane's death was the absolute saddest. At first I was angry - why could he not have chosen the transplants and tried to survive? - but the prayer thing ripped me apart and I cried my eyes out. Mordin's death was the second saddest, and the Legion's death. Legion's death, piled on top of the other two was too much and I stopped the game for a while. Then I went back for no other purpose than to gut Kai Leng. I hate that bastard. After he was dead, I went as far as saying my goodbyes, then quit. I've seen the endings and have no desire to suffer through them. So I guess the end is on the "sad" list too. It was like they spent the whole game destroying Shepard's hope and then proved her right to have none. Leaves you with a really great feeling. Not...

1) Mordin. That had me tearing up. I was ready to go when he had the "had to be me, someone else might have gotten it wrong" and "would have like to have done test on seashells. The callback to his singing after hes loyal in ME2 and the final explosion got me going.

2) Goodbyes on earth.

Ashley on mars gets a special note. Not because it was necessarily the most sad, but because I thought I had f***ed up and felt so responsible. I was yelling at my tv being like "that b**** was invincible! How am I supposed to stop that?" I saw my LI getting killed out of nowhere at the start of the game and it was heartbreaking.

All of em cept for 4. 4 just pissed me off that Shepard stood there not doing anything and let Ash get her head bashed in.
