Hello, I have a problem, here's the list:

1. Mass Effect 1
   a. PC version.
   b. Digital download, Steam.

2. System details
  a. AMD Phenom II 955 / 4 cores / 3.2 GHz / 8 GB (2x 4GB-sticks) DDR3 1600 MHz
  b. XFX AMD Radeon HD 6950 / 2 GB VRAM / Catalyst 12.2
  c. Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium (non-Fatal1ty) / Driver v 6.0.1.1348
  d. Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 64-bit ( Aero disabled)
  e. DirectX 11
  f. Crucial M4 128 GB SSD / Firmware 0309

3. Problem details
It started randomly from time to time ( the BSODs), but it wasn't that often and I could always restart the game and continue past that point; until now! Now on Noveria, everytime I get into the first enemy controntation with the Mako, the very first one before the tunnel-thing with one turret and like 2-3 Geth enemies. Always that same place, like clockwork!

The game always worked before, and the only things that has changed in my system since then is a new Windows install, my soundcard (had another Creative before), my graphics card, and my SSD.
I followed a guide on how to optimally install an SSD though.
The game itself is not installed on the SSD, but on a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 320 GB SATA 3Gbps drive along with the rest of Steam, if that's essential. The OS is obviously installed on the SSD.

I hope that's enough info for you people, I would appreciate some advice and/or help. Thanks in advance!

I think I know just what is wrong here xeekei.

Does it happen when you fire the turret on the Mako? If so, I had the same issue before and it was due to my Creative X-Fi Titanium driver. I'm assuming you have the latest one? That particular number doesn't seem familiar, the X-Fi Titanium drivers all begin with 2.

I can't link you directly to the driver because of the way Creative's website works, but it should say on the website that the driver number is 2.17.0008

Also, if you don't have Creative ALchemy 1.41.02 installed, I'd recommend it. You can find that on their site as well.

Having said all of this, obviously I can't be positive this is what's wrong, but it's an exceptionally strong possibility. If you already have these drivers and the applications (Try getting the Console Launcher app as well) then I'd suggest disabling hardware sound.

Hope this helps!

Generally speaking, it isn't at all normal for any software of any sort to be able to bring a modern OS down totally (Blue Screen). The odds are very miniscule for such a thing, and HEAVILY weighted toward some type of hardware hiccough.
