Operation: Goliath ps3 users can't participate because of "technical limitation"

You know, I've been very forgiving of the technical issues in BioWare's PS3 titles. I didn't even complain when Dragon Age: Awakening was damn near unplayable on PS3 platform. I was annoyed by the technical issues in Mass Effect 2, but again I said nothing. This in spite of the fact that the issues were never fixed.
But this? Wow. I can't even put to words how thuroughly insulting it is. If there are technical issues, how about explaining them to those of us who probably would have very much liked to participate in the event? Instead, we get a simple "Sorry, bro" style brush off. Not cool.

At least they are being honest. Instead of promising us to be able to participate and then give us a low quality experience....... like they did with the full game.
What's honest here? Sony is the most open dev, willing to bend over backwards for devs to do things on PSN, and yet somehow Bioware can't get them on their side? I can smell the bull**** from a galactic light year away.
Can't you just cut the BS and just tell us what "technical limitation" ACTUALLY means?

The situation isn't pleasant, but there's really no use making it worse till we get an answer. And if we hear nothing for days or weeks, then that's just as likely an answer too.

it is not the best way to treat your cystomers and fans like this. we already have asked nicely and politely countless times. And we got nothing back from them.
And I am simply wondering... who's fault is it going to be when people start losing their patience? Who is to blame of after so much ignoring people stop asking nicely and start doing the opposite? I mean it is rather ridiculous and ironic to think that we must always ask politely forever and ever when we see that asking politely is simply getting us nowhere....
Bioware recently changed the board rules and i told them that i am ok with that, but they need to understand that a lot of the whinning and bickering in this board is cause because they simply choose to ignore their fans when they are calm and they just want some answers. This issue is a perfect example. We've been asking nicely for one month now concerning the framerate issue.
What exactly has that politeness got us? Nothing... So it is perfectly mormal after a point for people to start feeling ignored and to be honest idiots, and that leads to all the foul mouthing and posting...

If we don't hear a thing, or are even excluded from the next event (even for the same "technical limitations" again), I expect things to be vastly different.

Whether it is purposeful ignorance of our platform that is the cause of us not being able to participate, or a hardware/software/legal issue is rather set aside by the companies silence. They refuse to give a straight answer, don't give an apology, offer nothing in the way of compensation for the lack of content and seemingly have no desire to answer a direct question about the issue with anything other than a cut and paste of the "technical limitations" speech, thats the same as a mechanic telling you your cars broken down because something is wrong, but giving you no other information.
They don't respond to our forum threads either.
All we need is;
"We understand your concerns and anger, we are sorry we can't deliver the product to you in the manner you expect and that other gamers are recieving it and regret that you are being denied content, we are working to resolve the issue, which is "policy/software/hardware/ignoreance/legal" (delete as appropriate), and we have a loyalty package being set up to compensate your lack of participation."
Is that too much to ask of a customer facing business? If my company charged the same money for a product to two customers and didn't give the same service to both, we'd be in the courts in a split second.

LImited exclusivity seems like the most likely answer, but it's not as though that's a new issue PS3 owners have had to deal with so they would've just said that if that were the whole thing. At this point developers should be more up front about not producing a comparable package on PS3. Just don't develop for the system if you don't know how, Bioware, or if you're forced by the competition to make the game worse. You guys make most of your money elsewhere anyways.TheBigLebowski wrote...

It's not okay at all. It may be alright with you, but you can only speak for yourself. Others may have wanted to participate in the event. If they make the game for PC, Xbox and PS3, then all platforms should be able to join in on Operation: Goliath. If you can't get all platforms to work, don't do the event. Why should all suffer because of one group? Because it's the right thing to do.
I'm nobody special, but I have been a fan for a time. This type of stuff going on with ME3 has been really making me question my loyalty to them. I'm sure they could care less, but they really are going about business the wrong way and it will come back to bite them in the end. What you reap, is what you sow.

Casey Hudson (executive producer and director) was quoted as saying, "When we finish a game, we finish it many months before it actually hits the shelves and that team goes on to work on something else that in those intervening months represent millions of dollars of development time.... " While this quote is actually related to him defending DLC on the disc, it does address that instead of working on options that could have been available to PS3 users that are on par with other consoles, they chose to instead move ahead with DLC. (It could be argued that those are different teams on separate projects). During this time, would it not have been beneficial to announce to the PS3 gaming community that we would not be able to have access to the same things as other platforms? If we had known ahead of time that our participation and options would be limited or excluded, we could have simply made other arrangements such as buying on the PC or xbox platforms.

The goal for O:G is to successfully extract from a Reaper-held zone on Silver/Gold. So maybe PS3 users should get on multiplayer and do it anyway to say "We will not be left out1"

I think that the most telling thing is Bioware's utter lack of communication to PS3 users.

Lol!
Thats not a quote dude, i'm just saying thats all Bioware would need to say to alleviate a lot of the PS3 communities issues.
