While I agree that it does suck to be excluded from the previous promotion and losing out on a lot of unique items because of it, there's one thing I think people are overlooking; I call it the 'Resistance 3' defence.

To coincide with the release of R3 last year a websire was set up at 'www.myresistance.net' which included a 'Risk' type strategy game that would allow players to link their achievements there to multiplayer aspect of R3. All well and good, but for the first couple of months of that website's existence there was no actual way to do the link the accounts because of the same kind of restrictions being placed upon Bioware right now. At one point Sony even refused to allow the website to run due to their strict privacy/security practices.

What I'm saying is; if Sony can place those kinds of delays/restrictions on a game or developer they own, imagine the hoops Bioware must be forced to jump to before they can sort this out for us.

As a PS3 owner, I hope they do soon I want awesome stuff like everyone else, but I think it's important to see things with a wider perspective.

People really need to read this to put things into perspective.

^^^ Indeed. I'm really pissed I can't get my goodies but Bioware isn't to fault, nor is EA. Sony has done a lot to change their policies and EULA since the whole hack incident. They don't want to be liable for anymore damages which means that short-sightedness will leave us out in the cold. I say we all leave feedback for Sony and let them know how we feel. Would be a lot more productive than dogging Bioware.

If that's the case, you'd think Bioware would know about it, having worked on PS3 already with ME2, and not planned anything for 3 on PS3 prior to launch, like the Battlefield 3 soldier skin at least until it was sorted.

Yet they did anyway...

And still no word from Bioware... an explanation, something... nothing... nada...

If this is not proof Bioware treats PS3 users as second rate customers I dont know what is...

My guess is that BioWare would love to tell us what a pain in the ass Sony is to deal with, but doing so would only make things worse. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one and assuming they're being diplomatic and working on this "behind the scenes," so to speak. The more community events we miss, though, the more difficult it will be to read good intentions into their silence on the matter.

Totally agree, as much as I know that Sony can be a pain in the ass to deal with, the promise of further community events in the coming weeks, without any word on whether we'll be able to participate is already leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.

I'd hope that lessons would be learned from Operation: Goliath backlash by both Bioware and Sony, or at least an alternative way of tracking PS3 users participation.

wow, im surpised at how many of you blame Bioware and yet cant put 2 and 2 together. This same issue is happening in another game on the PS3 which Bioware didnt even make, that i bet over half of you own and probably all have played. That would be Battlefield 3.

The issue lies between EA and Sony. Something happened between the 2 of them and Bioware, covering their butts and not wanting to be looking for jobs, isnt going to be saying anything bad about their bosses just because we want answers. If anything everyone here complaing should be going after EA and Sony to patch things up so this doesnt continue with this game or any future games EA produces.

So what do you guys feel about it? personally i find this extremenly unfair, 1st with the battlefield 3 bonus and now this.
Good way to show that bioware doesn't care about ps3 users.

E.A gives ps3 exclusives on anything battlefield 3, B2K map packs early, all upcoming maps early, also got the demo early and last but not least, the mass effect dogs tags in game.. including a mass effect 3 tag, there are 2..

i was throwing a hissy the day of, obviously over the principal and obviously just to hear myself think because i knew it wouldnt do much but make me feel a little better, lol

so basically i wanted to know, needed to know but had to wait, and unfortunately the mass effect of opinions is only true in the minds of the randoms who were tossing them out there.

finally i got some info, wasnt what i was expecting to hear and more importantly not what i was hoping to hear..
by contractual obligations certain things can not be discussed , even something which seems simple can be volcanic if worded wrongly of if worded at all , in this case a bunch of wealthy corperations.
i have learned that nobody is exempt from touching on certain subjects, especially when its on their property,lol..
i will and can say this much, " who ever is in control of dispersing such digital content may do so at their discretion via the network"
so if the elements that be felt like it would be a nice gesture to toss us a bone, a recruit pack etc, it is possible. "so as long as one has internet access and redeemed a valid online pass"

keep in mind that one can not snap fingers and viola, but it can be done and would be a more simpler process to give pretty much identical items to everybody. but it is a process none the less.

and to my knowledge this has not been ruled out, it may very well happen if the future.
the name and number in the box to the left of my post is my psn user name if you want to get a better understanding,

but i have come to the conclusion that its not worth any more usage of the 5 and 1 half brain cells i have left. i have also come to a conclusion while those brains cells were being used and wanting to get the most out of them in the same moment in case of potential loss of some, that :

"wow, maybe you are getting a bit old for this crap, its not the golden age anymore, it just feels so cheap and crappy to game and thats just it, its not cheap and the way i game well lets just say i could feed an orphanage before one gaming quater is up. all the accessories, guides, dlc's and dlc's for those dlc's just for new dlc's to come out w/ all the dlc's in whats called a "complete edition". well the irony in buying items which are not complete i normally dont practice in my non-gaming affairs for example -  paying for a carry on, a small suitcase, then a medium one and then a large suitcase, wait a while, and then go back and buy the entire indentical set at a cheaper price , common sense tells me that i should look for a set first because its probably cheaper and if i dont then shame on me for being an idiot.
but i know the ropes by now, the tricks of the gaming trade , by no means am i new to this and thats the scary part, the part i dont like 2 admit to myself or anyone for that matter. but like the word insanity is defined, doing the same things over and over again expecting different results. so am i insane?  or is that naive kid who loved his nintendo and sega just mighting himself for things to be different the next game or ultimately somehow get some sort of fair treatment on a level of business pactices, well in my mind i know the gaming industries well oiled money printing publishing machines turned everything to hot trash and the many laws passed by congress basically opened the flood gates for them and closed the door on in the faces of the gamers in one motion so i must be some sort of game-o-holic or some gamehead ! so a naive, nuts in much denial and strung out on pixels.
but after all these years of gaming i never really stopped to think about how much the industry has changed. to the point where/when the companies that are selling me a fun exp on a disk/hard drive are also the very ones taking away from the fun exp.. you kidding me?  years ago a this crap wouldnt go on, people wouldnt stand for it.
but thats just it. its not years ago. in one shape or form i have been around gaming for one reason or another but it was the passion was what kept me playing. but that passion has taken a beating.. nothing happened over night, but maybe it just hit me hard because mass effect / bioware where one of the few that kept that spirit alive and it sad to see that no game/studio/developer is immune and maybe i just wished it would skip mass effect and just continue to commercialize the re-hashed crap thats lingering out there, which there certainly isnt a shortage of.

anyways , later people..

and thank them before you hang up...
im not trying to be a  smart a@#, seriously.
because when i learned information,( which by the way was not by some one with an assumption )
i was still a bit upset @ first, but when i learned of the nature of  this event, and the lack of details which made perfect sense and later confirmed by a 2nd industry i was no longer upset that i missed it.. i was even more upset, but again not because of the lack of the event.

and whats aweful is how many are so defensive , like pitbulls for these zillion dollar companies when the laugh is actually on you.. and im going to do something that may be very hard but try to learn.. very easy. the joke was on us..you see? that wasnt hard, see what i did there? changed you into us, because i dont make money off games, i play them like you, also i wish to be treated fairly and the same with you. ps3 people, this may sound follish or confusing but just be glad that its over and done and you had no part in it.. because knowing what i do know i would feel very angry and violated..  i feel foolish just thinking about the fit i threw on friday over learning no ps3..

thats my psn tag, write me and i will gladly write you back and tell you what you need to know and where and how to go about getting the information.. not very hard 2 find, to come here and think you will find it, well im not sure that will happen, ever.. and if there is a way to blame, they would have but in a "technical way" if the dialogue explains the "technical" issue without explaining why then i will say one cant be said without the other. i mean really, dont you think some out side source or 3rd party wouldve shed some more light? thats just it, its best to stay just like this.. "technical" is as far as it will go.. and there is a reason of such a technicality, and its the best way to explain it without more controversy , so as unfulling an answer that may be, its the only way to put it w/o details which may lead to more "issues"

so unless the time comes where every detail will be disclosed, the event has ended and nothing will change it.
at this point it doesnt matter, but the person who wrote this topic had a right to ask a reasonable question, all these made up ideas from "fellow gamers" which does not represent any truth does not help the situation and as far as im concerned thats like someone on here going to an xbox blog and answering questions pertaining to xbox but more importantly bringing theories puled out of thin air with them.

one person said something and was pretty much in the right area, about getting in trouble etc.. this is true, because either its explained in every detail, bad idea.. or in " the less said the better"  way..
try and be a bit more supportive of each other, doesnt matter if you have a xbox or pc or ps3. and if you cant support then just dont get involved .. if you cant help someone then dont hurt em either. this isnt directed to the post i replied to, just puled out a chair and sat in here for a bit..

Too all the people complaining, don't buy any DLC released for the game. If you plan to then please stop complaining, because you are just making Bioware right by buying it, you are saying "Treat me second class and I'll still support you" giving them no reason to ever change.

I hope things are sorted out so we can get into the next event.I have not even touched single player yet just been playing multiplayer because people are reporting problems with the single player so ive been waiting on the new patch before i start single player.
The lack of response to peoples complaints on the ps3 forums is bad will we ever get answers for the problems people are haveing.

I doubt that.  From what I understand the PC and Xbox are similar.  The work on porting to the PS3 is quite different from what I've read somewhere.  This is the same exact thing that happened in Skyrim.  The devs explained after fixing the issue that it was tricky to figure out.

My guess is that the ME devs, or whoever is working on this situation, might be dealing with the same thing.  I can appreciate that it may take time.  I think people just want some feedback.

I doubt anything is going to get done, regardless of whose fault it is. Bioware/EA could care less that now they have our $$$. I still haven't seen one Staff or Representative from Bioware posting anything in the forums.

Funny they couldn't do this "Due to Technical Issues" but they can add another Veteran Pack and charge £1.19 to buy it or 33000 points

I found this interesting as well.

Also, to the guy who said the same thing is happening on the PS3 version of Battlefield 3; No, it isn't.

I think it's unacceptiable. There is no reason to leave out 1/3 of your marketed audience. I felt like I was being treated as a lesser fan, or a less important customer.
