So, I decided to listen to Podcast Beyond to see if IGN's Colin Moriarty would consider any of our arguments after huge number of comments his video generated. He did bring up Fallout, but then he claimed that it wasn't about changing the ending to please fans, it was about selling DLC since the game didn't allow people to play past the ending and it was affecting sales DLC. However, he completely ignored that we have a similar situation brewing. Yes, the game does return you to before the Cerberus base, but it doesn't change the fact that a lot of people don't see the point in DLC since it'll just amount to some war assets. Even Forbes seems to recognize that whatever future plans there are will be hurt by this.

Charles Dickens was known to alter character and story elements in his books (often published in installments) based on fan criticisms. Most of these changes ended up being for the better in the finished novel. Are we really supposed to believe that video game developers have more artistic integrity than Charles - freaking - Dickens?

By the way Fallout 3 had much more satisfying ending and it had to make sense in it's universe. Except the fact that ghoul/supermutant companions acted VERY unreasonable breaking all the drama and by their existence(trying not to spoil). That drived people mad.

Also there was only one REAL mistake that is repeated in ME3 ending - no explanation. Everything you have done through entire game had no effect. Your actions had no results - only epic movie about your last actions...and it's over. You could just watch the ending and not play entire game.

Willing to buy? ME3 costs over 60€ for god's sake! If there's any new ending (hope so), it has to be a free DLC.

It would be great if it was free, a real lovely gesture from bioware, BUT I would be just so happy to have this fix that I would still pay for it, would be a little annoying, but still the better solution!

This. So very much this.

There is a precedent, use it as a lever to crack them wide open.

As Jack Black would say:

"See? It's F**kin simple!"

Don't ever quote that guy... don't even mention him. He is EVERYTHING that is wrong with the community of gamers and brings EVERY stereotype against us.

Anyway, Skyrim was not the best in all honesty.

Given how they flat-out lied to us, I don't think a simple dlc will fix their reputation. If they actually release it for free, that would certainly go a long way in repairing the damage done. If they charge for it, I will probably get it, but then Bioware/EA will be dead to me.

Lets be clear the 'reason' Fallout received a different ending was to make DLC playable "after" you completed the main campaign. Which until they patched the game it wasn't possible.

Not because their was hysteria about the ending being poor.

You have a guy who can explicitly travel through radiation with no ill effects with you. He in fact does this for you not that long before you're tasked with this final scene (to get the GECK.) He then tells you that it's your destiny to do this. You die, the game ends.

In the DLC, he's willing to do it for you. Because not doing it was stupid, and Bethesda recognized that it was hamhanded to have the two events so close and have Fawkes essentially kill you by not doing the trivial task just for dramatic heft. After all, getting the GECK and not pushing the damn button in the final chamber undermined any weight it would have had in the first place.

I always laugh when ppl laud Fallout 3 as an example of a great RPG with good writing.

Fallout 3's writing is horrifically bad. New Vegas is what Fallout 3 SHOULD have been.

I still have some hope, I can't shake the feeling that Bioware is holding something back. I just don't think they'd let this be the end, especially after doing so great with ME 1&2.

It's not impossible.

Bethesda is a good game company. Bioware is now merged with EA they are a corporate machine not a game company. At least not anymore.

They could do something where Shepard tracks down and rescues the crew/squad from the crashed Normandy and finds them all bat**** crazy from eatting fruit similar to Jacob's dad. Then Shepard makes them all his/her slaves. The End.

No. I would not accept a "post-ending" DLC. We want a DLC which FIX or ADD the current options of the ending.

A post-ending DLC is simply UNACCEPTABLE.

Hold the line.
