I'm sitting on the"Reunite with LI" question. What's considered "reuniting" in this context?

Uh, they get to make out messily in front of everyone?

Is it he/she helps everyone else dig Shepard out of the rubble, which technically reunites them? Or a scene dedicated to just the two of them?

Actually that all depends on the Normandy scene... I'm still not very clear what people want to do with that one.
For a quick reunion with the LI you pretty much have to invalidate it so the LI is in London (where he/she whas supposed to be in the 1st place). Then LI can stumble on half-dead Shepard in the rubble and they can proceed to eat each other's face.

I guess a reunion several years / decades later on the jungle world could work too. Liara would still be young at under 200, and Shepard could cryo-freeze himslef during the trip.

But something tells me simple is better!

:/

There are several options in the poll that would ruin the ending even more than it already is.

That's why I included a "let's not do this" option for each, so everyone can have their say.

If you have better alternatives you're welcome to chirp in. Please do try to keep them concise if I'm to add them to the poll however.

Yeah I understand, and I love the poll by the way. But I don't see why people would want an option to beat them through conventional warfare, because in the end, the Reapers win every, single, time. Or maybe people think that having the cycle continue would be a better ending than the three given to us?

In fairness, the Reapers won every single time because they warp to the Citadel, assume direct control of the Mass Relays, and destroy isolated clusters one-by-one.

This cycle was different, thanks to Mass Effect 1.
They actually had to fight a united galaxy that could use Mass Relays freely.

That's true, but it's stated by the Protheans, Liara, (I think Hackett?) and multiple others, that the war cannot be won by conventional means. But you're right, maybe they're just wrong, and all it takes is a united galaxy to win the fight against the Reapers? You have to remember that millions are dying each day, and with that many Reapers, would it even be possible to win by conventional means?

It was also stated by the main characters at varying points that the final mission in Mass Effect 1 and 2 was going to be a one way trip. As you said, I could easily see some of the main characters being wrong in their assessments. It's happened before. Besides, even if ME 3 invariably ended with a victory through conventional warfare (a ludicrous idea, but stay with me), I'd still want main characters to say "we can't win through conventional means". It's necessary to build a fear of failure in the player. Nothing's worse than the Star Wars Prequel syndrome of having the main characters say "this will be no problem", as they repeatedly did when preparing to fight battle droids. Eugh.

Anyway, I am a proponent of some form of conventional victory so long as you get a bloody good EMS score, the likes of which would make the EMS scores of previous cycles become almost microscopic by comparison. Failure to get a damn good EMS score and attempting conventional warfare over some kind of super-weapon or (blah!!!) space magic based plan of action should result in your ass being handed to you so badly that you'll make the protheans look like they won a decisive victory over the Reapers, when the Reapers wiped them all (forgetting Javik) out.

Remove all unnecessary underwear, da fuq?

Traynor keeps her undies on in the shower. It's been commented on with various degrees of amusement (frustration?)

Femshep also looked ridiculous in her romance scene, sleeping above her sheets in lacy underwear. Give her sheets, give her comfortable pj's/underwear or make her naked. How many woman sleep in such a tight bra?

Great poll and i just thought of this as i watched in horror of the ending, In the arrival dlc when a mass relay explodes it destroys everything in the system and doesnt in 2 of the endings all of the relays explode ending in universal genocide.

Voted. Good poll, OP, I thought you fleshed out most of the options pretty well. Much better than a standard like/dislike ending poll.

Thanks for the claification!

Guess I'll have to put no then. It falls way to dangerously close to a "unicorns and rainbows" ending for my tastes. I actually think one of the few things the ending has going for it in it's present state is that it's dark. A dark but hopeful ending would work best given the rest of the game and a "make out hard!" scene just throws that out the window.

All of this is, of course, IMO.

I giggled at the underwear question, but I agree. They did tasteful partial nudity in the first one, couldn't they find a way to do it again?

I answered. For me it basically comes down to I could ignore a lot of them problems people have with the endings if there was a detailed epilogue explaining what happens to the squad mates and the galaxy at large. We all know Bioware can do epilogues like that so the lack of one is rather jarring and sours me.

Right. The least Bioware can do is make the EMS worth something after turning all of our big decisions into numbers. So yeah, maybe there should be an option, if you have an extremely high EMS, to refuse and fight the Reapers, which could be canon. I personally am sort of against the whole 'changing the ending' and I hope that Shepard is really just indoctrinated, but if we were to change it, I would want this to be the way. The reason being, that it's the best way to AT LEAST make everything we've done matter. And if Shepard has to die this way, so be it. Ultimately, I just want them to explain what happens afterwards.

Best of both worlds - allow an option to remove censors. Let the user decide. For those that are offended by nudity (but not by violence?), they can simply turn it off.
