Not Getting Starfang Random Encounter
#1

I've probably traveled around the map more than a dozen times, doing random side quests. I've also had more than a dozen random encounters without getting the Starfang one.
Any advice? This is driving me crazy. Is there anything I can do induce the Starfang random encounter. Alternatively, has anyone with the DLC ever completed the game without getting the random encounter?

If all else fails, just console cheat the meteor into your inventory.

I have heard that travelling from Soldier's Peak to Honnleath has a higher-than-average rate of triggering the encounter. Not sure if that is true, but that also happens to be where it happened to me. Be prepared to get jumped by Old Tegrin almost every trip, though... and good luck!

yes this is true i did it 4 times

Both times I've played through the game I've gotten the "superman" scene almost directly after I went from Wardens Keep.

You don't even need to set foot in Soldier's Peak. I just force it by running between Denerim and Flemeth's hut for a couple of minutes early on in every game.

not true on my mage i got it before i even went to the keep you can get it anytime
as someone else said if you have mods installed it could prevent the event to happend, on my first rogue i had stuff installed and never got it to trigger , on the next playtrough after some hours of play i decided to turn off my add ons (non DLC) and i got it to trigger and i switched them on after

I have the Stuff with the DDE
CC ring
DA journeys items(2/3 of them)
And have yet to see the encounter once on any of several playthroughs...
Might be just a really low chance of spawn.
But yea...outside mods break this game to bits.

GD POS SOFTWARE!!!
I just knew if EA got involved with Bioware, that crap like this would inevitably occur.
EA you know exactly where you can shove your influence, RIGHT?????!!!!!

The xml seems to say it has a really low chance (seems to be 2%? not sure) of occurring.

Which XML controls random encounter chances?

There seem to be different random encounter sets for different terrains: highway, forest, plains, mountains (and underground and denerim). The Superman encounter is only in the plains and mountains sections. I guess this is why people say go to Honnleath. There still seems to be a LOTR encounter, it's plains only. Then theres the axe in the tree one, which is unsurprisingly forest only.
Oh and the "chance" (I think) int for superman in mountains seems to be 0. Might be bugged.
