Femshep vs MaleShep Voice Acting

No offense to Jennifer Hale, but to me the Femshep voice doesn't fit right. To me it sounds like it's trying to be TOO manly.
To me the Maleshep voice flows right for all 3 Mass Effects.
Thoughts?

I like Jennifer Hale better. She's very consistent in her deliveries and they always fit how you choose to respond. There's a clear distinction between a paragon and a renegade response with her. And she always sounds like she's in the scene. Mark Meer just sounds like he's doing a voice over with no thought to the context of the given scene to me. It's like ManShep never showed up for rehearsal and is constantly reading off cue cards over the other characters' shoulders. It yanks me right out of the game trying to play as him.

I have been actively following Hale's career ever since I heard her beautiful lines in Planescape Torment, and have seriously ran out of praise words.

I find Meer's better because he expresses far more emotion. Hale's is a tad too flat and monotone for me.

I feel the exact opposite about their performances.

I don't like it when characters don't seem to give a damn about what happens around them. So I'll stick with Meer.

Aye, that might be the right word for it.

But Hale is simply on another level altogether. The ME3 trilogy with FemShep was the greatest VA job done, ever.

That said, it's all down to personal tastes. I remember someone commenting they liked Meer better because Hale always "sounded bored" and I was stunned - I'd spent all these years thinking MEER was the one who sounded bored. *shrug* "Wouldn't be enough haggis to go around," and all that!

A game example is Aria. She's tough. She sounds like a woman. In fact Aria scares the crap out of me.

See MP, I don't get that. I always felt that Manshep sounded like he was in the scene. Femshep's voice sounds like she's trying to be a guy and depending on the modeling choice, it seems to throw everything off. to me.

Methinks you just have a problem with strong military ladies. Hale doesn't sound like a guy at all.

Meer is fine. His performance amped up from ME to ME3. I prefer Hale because the thought of having a thematically consistent space opera with a female lead is appealing because it's so rare. She's Commander Shepard for me, always and forever.
She killed in ME3 though. Her best performance yet.

Hmm, I hadn't even considered different appearances. I play a no-nonsense, no-makeup, etc character when I'm playing femShep - I admit, I can't even imagine her voice being behind some painted hussy's face.
I've only really heard Meer's delivery through default and might-as-well-be-default manShep faces.
I'm OK with Aria, but I'd much rather sound like femShep if I had to pick one.

Edit: There are a FEW (enough to count on one hand) occasions in which Hale's VO sounds a bit forced.
