No offense to Jennifer Hale, but to me the Femshep voice doesn't fit right. To me it sounds like it's trying to be TOO manly.
To me the Maleshep voice flows right for all 3 Mass Effects.
Thoughts?

See MP, I don't get that. I always felt that Manshep sounded like he was in the scene. Femshep's voice sounds like she's trying to be a guy and depending on the modeling choice, it seems to throw everything off. to me.
A game example is Aria. She's tough. She sounds like a woman. In fact Aria scares the crap out of me.

I don't want to encourage this debate (to me they're apples and oranges) but FemShep's voice is too manly? I find her voice entirely appropriate. Often tough, but she's downright vulnerable when she needs to be (romances, extremely apparent in the ending portion of ME3.)

Still Shep's a career soldier, Aria isn't. I think Hale reflects the military culture in her performance. Found a good video that compares their acting though:
It's just Hale sounds like a professional voice actor. Meer sounds like a guy who is used to doing voice overs in commercials or something.

That's what I like - she's a complete badass... but sometimes, when the time is right, you can see the cracks in the armor, and go "Damn. She's really just a human being underneath it all, but she still manages to do what she does. Bravo, Madame!"

Plus Hale has done hundreds of roles as VA including Cortana from halo.

I love Hale in the ME series. I *wish* I sounded half as badass as she does. Speaking as a female gamer who is SO. ****G. SICK. of female game characters being whinly little ****s that run around in high heels and wonderbras... Damn, but femShep is a breath of fresh air. Love it.

Dear God, why the hell did you make this thread? Now it'll be basically a men vs. women argument with a few people who prefer the other.

Hale's VA is far and away superior to Meer's- which isn't putting Meer down, he did a fantastic job, and he does deliver a few lines better than Hale.
But Hale is simply on another level altogether. The ME3 trilogy with FemShep was the greatest VA job done, ever.
