I love FemShep.  My FemShep was an Earthborn Renegade Bada**, so it fit well for me.

I also prefer meer, especially with a custom shep face. I've seen clips of femshep and it does sound very forced in some scenes. My soon to be ex-wife is in the military and her voice never sounds artificially deep, she sounds normal. Joining the military doesn't make women's voices all of a sudden get deeper.

With 1 exception, "STEEEEEVE!!", mark meer always sounds like he's there, in the moment, truly a part of the scene.

I've never felt she sounded bored; I DO think she sounds reserved - which is completely in keeping with her status as a military officer.  They aren't supposed to be exciteable or "girly" - they're supposed to sound calm and in control at all times, no matter what's going on in their heads.  It may be that my own military experience is coloring my views on her voice, but eh well - it's only an opinion either way.

I prefer Jennifer Hale's emotion and delivery. I find that Mark Meer's delivery is too monotone and delivery is always the same. (Regardless of Paragon/Renegade) On regards to Hale's voice being to 'manly' I'm not sure what you are trying to get at there. She sounds like a woman to me, would you prefer an anime dub would high pitch squeaky girls? No thanks, I want a soldier and a strong woman. Just because she is strong doesn't mean she is 'manly'.

No offense to Jennifer Hale, but to me the Femshep voice doesn't fit right. To me it sounds like it's trying to be TOO manly.

To me the Maleshep voice flows right for all 3 Mass Effects.

Femshep seems like a forced butch female interpretation of a macho dude like Rambo or some crap. Mark Meer's performance doesn't come across as for the most part a normal guy thrown into extraordinary circumstances.

I always picture her eyes having this really tired bored look, eyelids in mid way. But she did a great job as Bastilla and Cortana. I just don't really like this "bored" voice she has in ME games.

Jennifer Hale does a great job for female Shepard and Mark Meer does a great job for Male Shepard. Simple as that.

There is. I am too lazy to look up the link but IIRC Hale has appeared in over 130 games. I am not sure how many games North has done but it's a lot to say least.

Can't help it when she talks like she does. Sorry.

Just saying, she does sound a bit bored when she talks. I'm sure she peps up at some segments. Again, Hale is a really good voice actress, but I just don't like what she does here.
